Functionality Or Looks?

When creating a build for PvP do you care about the functionality of your build(poise, defense, etc.) or do you just care about looking cool(no poise, weak gear, etc.)?

Personally for me it's all about functionality. Like my pops always said "you never look cool when you lose".

If I do lose at least I'll lose in style. Functionality first, however if I can choose style and only lose a small amount of functionality Ill do that.

I do a mix of both, there are standards I set myself to for what I want to do. If I want to fast roll, if I want to use a certain style, if I want a set amount of poise. It depends. But I typically sacrifice practical use for someone I can stand to look at for more than 10 minutes.

Typically you can't have both unless you want to be a min maxer, of which I am not. If I want fast flip I have near to nothing for poise, if I want to tank, best I can get is mid roll, which is fine by me. I don't want to use masks, and I tend to get hit more often using DWGR than I do using fast-mid roll for some reason.

For me its a toss up, if I was playing to win I would have lost my mind, I am playing for fun. So I want to look good while I die

Witch's Chest Piece with a female character and Velka's Mask looks good with ANY gloves or leggings. So I go with that and usually put on Knight leggings and Silver Knight Gauntlets. But that's with my Dex Character who loses no matter what I do... Because I suck and I refuse to use anything but P. Dagger. So I guess looks is what I do. Because P. Dagger looks to dang awesome. Simply awesome.

But on my newest character, a tank. I'm goin Mask of the Father, Fully Upgraded Giant set, Greatshield of Artorias (which looks awesome AND is functional) and my maxed out Demon's Greataxe. Doesn't look too good, but I got great defense, great poise, and with Havel's Ring+FaP Ring, I can medium roll. I probably WILL switch around when I do more PvP, though. Probably get mah Demon's Greatsword to max and wear something cooler with a wolf ring instead of havel's or my FaP Ring (I got a spare)

Function but it has to look good too. I won't touch Smough's armor, Giant's or the Full Havel set (hate the helmet) regardless of how well it can work. I wanted to stay heavy armor and think Tarkus is a cool guy so I upgraped that set for looks.

Mostly style for me except for my weapons. Like right now I put on the mask of the child over darkwraith armor to look psychotic and evil. Kinda worked in intimidation to as I was pvping in the forest and I had to fight a couple gankers. I ran away and then suprised the hell outta of them when I ran up and BSed the leader of the group.

I'd say I do a mix of both but I probably lean more to style over functionality.

I go style all the way - Sometimes I go naked - imo that is pretty functional

I actually play better when I look better. It makes no sense but the results are undeniable.

Kinda both for me. But, I favor functionality over looks. I won't wear Havel's armor, inless I have no choice. I have no problems with Giant's.

i do a mix of both but you can get some really cool looking toons with decent stats. Its overused but just using havels gauntlets and leggings then picking whatever you think looks the coolest for helm and chest always works well.

I remember wearing havels gloves and leggings before it was cool. 8)

Looks, you don't need any poise or defense if they never hit you.
