Some help on pvp Empty Some help on pvp

Post by Bye Wed May 02, 2012 2:13 pm

Just thought i'd ask for abit of help PvP wise. These high poise Giant/Havel wearing players using black knight greataxe seem to be everywhere, really have trouble denting them before i'm stunlocked by the axe.
So was wondering if anyone had any handy pvp tips for trying to overcome this type of setup? xD

That's the Forest Hunter tips and tricks thread, it should help.

What weapons do you use? If you're using light weapons, duck in, get a hit, duck out. If you're using a spear, poke away. If you're using a greatsword/gaxe/curved greatsword get 76 poise to resist a 2h swing and swing until they die. BKGA is also one of the easier weapons to parry, though I'm still trying to get the timing for it.

Learn to BS, they're usually weak to those. I personally wait till they're running at me, then I lock on, sprint slightly to their left or right, and bs the moment you find their back. The lag will mean they don't track you and most people using that build won't know how to reverse. Also, you cannot be stunlocked by that weapon at least 1h. You will get stunned once, then you can roll away without taking another hit.

block the first attack parry the 2nd. time the parry right after you block the first before they swing the 2nd one. 95% the time these BK fools will keep swinging

They can get stun locked as well thats why I use force every other attack to keep there poise low then I stun lock with my great sword.

phantom hits still affect poise you'll notice a phantom hit cause it sounds like when a person is hit with a magic weapon.

I'm not sure, but I think the BKGA can be parried by sight, it is such a slow weapon after all.

I started out using parry knife and bk knife buffed on right hand to kill farmers, usually OHK backstabb or parry but I recommend to you if you are not too experienced in pvp to start out parrying with a shield, then you can move into parry dagger when you are more comfortable with parrying.

This is right. You can parry great axes and ultra-greatswords by sight, just need to learn the timing (it's different for 1-handed and 2-handed, and for R1 and R2 attacks--but generally, those people will just spam R1).

And I'm not fond of the parrying dagger for PvP. I prefer using my notched whip! Or bare fists, or dark hand--they're all the same.

Oh, in a gank, use the DWGR and crits for i-frames. You won't survive without them.
