So... I met my first PSN hacker Empty So... I met my first PSN hacker

    Post by RagingDragon_69 Tue May 01, 2012 2:49 pm

I am working on a new dex build. I was level 73 and had just entered into the catacombs when I was invaded by a red phantom. I bowed to the invader and he rushed me, so I sidestepped his 2 hand Claymore swing and backstabbed him. And his health bar didn't move.

He got up, ran a away and did the So... I met my first PSN hacker 3596227959 gesture....

So I ran and got him with a pivot BS. Again his health bar didn't move. So I knew he was a hacker and that if wanted to win I would have to bleed him out. Unfortunately the only weapon that I had was a Lighting +4 Washing Pole. The fight lasted for almost 20 minutes, more than once I though he had me, but somehow I would mange to get enough distance between us or BS him then heal. Finally after using the flask 9 times and constantly hitting him with my Washing Pole for bleed damage I managed to bleed him out the 4th time and he died. He must have had about 100,000 HP, it was ridiculous. Anyways I get to the second bonfire, repair all my gear, refill my flasks, get a beer from the fridge as I really needed it after that fight and set off again.

Just as I crawl up the ladder to talk to Patches, I get invaded again by the same guy. So I flip the bridge switch and wait up top with Patches. I see him on the upper level and this time he has changed gear and is sporting a Bloodshield, so I know the same tactics will not win this fight. But I get an idea.

He jumps down from the upper level onto the path and he see's me up there with Patches.

He does So... I met my first PSN hacker 1447589260 followed by So... I met my first PSN hacker 3248139268 and then he rushes to the ladder and starts climbing.

I leap down as he is climbing up, he sees me leap over his head, so he slides back down the ladder. I land then pivot and run to land a BS on him as he gets off the ladder. I then run to the area just in front of the bridge and wait for him.

He gets up does his So... I met my first PSN hacker 3596227959 gesture again and comes at me, I can practically see the rage on his face.

So I turn and run across the bridge and swivel the camera, so I can see him chasing me, and just as I get to the fog wall I turn around and wave goodbye to him, He is abaout half way across the bridge, when I hear Patches pull the lever, the bridge flips over throwing him into the abyss below. At this point I fall off the couch laughing, and my GF comes running into the room to find out what happened. He never invaded me a 3rd time, so I assume he Rage quit.

The moral of the story is even a hacker can be beat if you know your weapons and abilities with them. And make sure you know your surroundings as sometimes they can be used to your advantage.

Also have a beer after a tough PVP fight it seems to help. lol!

the best tactic is bs them or kick them off bridges, no one can survive a fall that big, not even hackers.

The guilty never prosper. Sounds like it was a fun fight with a halarious ending to it. I might have to start liking Patches now.

Nice, there have been a couple of PSN reports of hacks but nothing this elaborate. Did you see how much damage he took when he fell? That's a good confirmation of how much hp he had.

You'd think that if you can hack a game on the ps3 you'd have had a good strategy when it came to pvp in Dark Souls. Kudos for kickin his ***. Also I like patches since Demon Souls, I gues it was because of the items he sold.

I know this is irrelavent but the grin on Flamelurkers face in your sig made chuckle. That's an awesome sig. Anyways, I'm still wondering how anyone thinks that a hacking is going to help them beat a good player? I know I'm gar from being an excellent player, maybe decent but still you wont see me trying to hack.

Unfortunately I was too busy laughing as I saw him being flung off the bridge and didn't see his total HP. But damn I sure felt a feeling of accomplishment after.

My guess is he never bothers with strategy and was just so used to being OP and easily beating people, that he never bothered to think. Plus I would bet he was unprepared for a DKS veteran. If he had any Bloodred moss on him or the Bloodshield for the first fight, then the fight would probably have have ended differently.

I am just glad that he invaded me and not a poor newbie to DKS. Plus it was fairly epic, so i had to post about it.

gj! Can you imagine if he'd popped a humanity after 15 minutes of the first fight, though? :x

If you block people, can they not invade you anymore? If I run into a hacker, win or lose I'll block and report him.

That's a pretty epic story. It's great to see hackers feeling the same frustration they cause.

That's a good question. I think their still able to invade you even if you have them on block, though it would be an interesting theory to test out.

Would probably be easy to test in the Kiln. I haven't been in a while, but I imagine farmers still sit there for a long time. Invade the same farmer twice, then block him. If you don't invade him again, try with another. If you don't invade any of them again, I think it'd be safe to assume blocking works.

I'm assuming it's the same for invading and hosting. But both could be tested at the same time, since you're always getting invaded while you try to invade, in the Kiln (well, unless you're a hollow Darkmoon...).

I'm a hollow and a Darkmoon at the moment. When I get back the kiln which should probably be sometime tomorrow or so, I may be able to test this theory unless you try it out before I do. At any rate, good hunting! So... I met my first PSN hacker 1361424789
