    Is this considered backstabfishing?

Post by Ser Isaac on Sun Apr 29, 2012 4:20 am

I hosted FC and 2 players were at it. One casted fire tempest and as she charged her spell he backstabbed her Is that considered Back stab fishing or is it okay?

Nah my understanding of backstab fishing is where a player makes no moves what so ever to attack except wait for that BS. They also will only ever BS and never attack for any reason. Thats how I see it.

That is not fishing... But may i direct you to rule 2. No backstabs! So it is against the rules. After any bs the 2 fighters should seperate and it is upto the person who got backstabed to decide if they want to heal. Then you bow and start fighting again.

fire tempest can cover almost the whole area of Blight town and if you have alot of poise how else do you stop some one from casting it?

You can kick to stop spell casting, but i think when it comes to instinct in a random invasion youll go for the bs. But thats what FC is for, train on how to win fights without using backstabs and junk.

Yeah for sure, its playing offensively. I probably woulda done the same thing if there were no way of escaping the damage

we tend to not use aoe spells in the pit because it is too small and makes it ahrd to doge specially if youre cornered on the chest. but bs is allowed on your FC so i would deff go with the bs since it would be a lot harder to dodge in there, kicking would actually get you killed since it takes longer to do.

This is another detract point for the DWGR.

If you have it on you can exploit the instant flip's I-frames, allowing you to roll through the fire without it doing a thing to you.

ok so you are required to pull off perfect timing to not take damage from a spell that you could have easily prevented while doing alot of damage.

i know the rules of fight club, but in my personal opinion it goes to far at times, and BSs should be allowed in certain cases like this or the one in my sig. no BS is because of pivot back stabs, lag stabs and BS fishers. shouldn't prevent some one from getting BSed when they want to attempt to pull off 5 second cast. lol but this doesn't mean i will BS in FC.. i just don't agree

Oh no, just mash the dodge. No timing is required at all. I've done it enough to gankers in the forest. It's a double boon, you waste their cast and you still get the backstab after the end of the cast.

you can still get hit if you flip and land in a pillar you will take damage. and if you BS after then that defeats the whole purpose of no BSing

The point is to make sure they don't try again. Anyway, I don't thing AoE's should be allowed for the pit. Sen's it's more open to avoid that sort of thing. BSing should be allowed, just not relied on. Like using it to punish is fine, I won't be mad if I get bs'd because I missed a swing with my halberd.

Yeah, backstabs are really lame. They're not the worst, though. If you can keep your wits about you, you can almost always tell when someone's skeemin'.

That's a Punishment BS, I think if you're casting a long spell like that a BS is acceptable, unless you're going with the no BS rules. Typically people wouldn't use such a large AoE spell then to abuse the rules, otherwise they're kind of being ****. I've done that in the PSN FC, but I always do it with zero poise so that can incredibly easily stop me.

Imo, that was a punishment backstab. Really there is a point where it's just not logical to expect them to not Backstab. Casting firestorm when you're in a small pit where there is no way to dodge it? one of those times.
