    .. i read that occult weapons deal more damage to host online players and devine deals more damage to invading phantoms anybody know?

    i tested +5occult and +10 devine msgs and dgm and devine beat occult byt about 5 or 10 which is nothing really, i still go with occult because it sounds a lot cooler(i had 50 faith and and 28 str).

    From what I understand, Occult weapons do more damage to players in human form, like hosts and phantoms. It also has better faith scaling. Divine weapons keep skeletons from respawning in Catacombs. As far as I know, that's really the only advantage to Divine weapons. Hope this helps.

    i tested my weapons on hosts and red pahntoms and devinve won by just a little every time, this also was tested a long time ago and the whole occult thing you mentioned was disproven, i think it might work on pve but not pvp(not sure since i havent done any tests on it).

    I already posted this somewhere else but I'll re-post it here for you.

    with 50 faith and 50 dex my occult uchi did 150 while my divine uchi did 154 to the same host. The stat screen listed the damage potential at 493 for occult and 492 for divine.

    Result : Occult lists 1 point higher, divine actually did 4 more points of damage.

    Conclusion : Occult does slightly more physical damage while Divine does slightly more magic damage. The difference in the hosts ability to resist those two types of damage gives a very slight edge to one or the other. The difference is to minimal to care about.

    Sorry, but is wrong.

    I tested against a friend, he was naked, so no magic defense at all.

    Using a divine and an occult bastard sword with 50 faith, first I invaded him through red soapstone, then he invaded me. The occult one did more damage in both cases.

    the reason i tested it on fully upgraded giant's armor is because everyone use that ugly armor or heavy armor, occult would be better for light armor and devine for med and heavy armor since the magic res in light armor is much higher. i always go with occult though cause i like the way it sounds.

    Agreed, my wanderer set has much more magic defense than the elite knight set.

    i think occult has more pys dmg but like rant said its not a very big difference.

    This, absolutely.

    In PvE Occult deals more damage to the followers of Gwyn, like Black Knights, Silver Knights, etc. Also Occult deals more damage to the baby skeletons right before Nito... for any reason.
    Divine never receives a damage bonus, which is strange because you still have a 1X0 number dedicated to the boost you would get when striking the correct opponent. So probably I'm wrong on this one, if anyone found the enemy being weak to divine damage, feel free to complete my post.

    However, in PvP, playing a Faith build, go with Chri-- Occult.

    It might be the case that the enemies being weak to divine are ghosts, they receive from a Divine Claymore almost double as much damage as from a Lightning Claymore.
