my first true griefer experience Empty my first true griefer experience

    Post by billy_bayonet Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:53 pm

i was helping a freind from my town who recently got into the same were both sl38 at the depths i was waiting to be summoned and i get invaded by a guy in giants gear MoC and BKGA and the aura from the wolfs ring, i have the hard leather set on and a +10 Laito target shield and +5 pyro flame, so instantly im thinking oh dear, luckily it was at the steps just before you get into the depths so he couldnt get behind me i parry his swings and take him down to half health at this point he starts ninja flipping through the area and hides behind the butcher, so i carefully kill all the enemies while letting one take me down to RTSR activation range, get out my+10 bow and kill the butcher from range, this angers him and he charges me so i dodge and he lands in the water, i think to myself now or neva as he neva popped a humanity i two hand my sword and do a drop attack killing him, afterwhich i bow, i believe this was a victory well earned and then i recieve hate mail from him calling me a noob and i only won cause he fell of the edge, some people aye!?

I remember mine. I turned human for the hell of it as I got humanity and excited (first playthrough, the one thats off the hollow in the well)

Got into the burg, invaded, guy in havels/mask rocks up to me, we bow and I was really excited at it, was my first online experience of the game after all. Guy comes in and one shot BS me with a katana. Back in the days when griefers were usually horrendously skillful players who go beat four kings SL1, I never had a chance.

I have seen tons of griefers sadly.

And now the backlash is almost worse than the problem. Summons who one-shot everything in their way, ruining the game for new players even more than over powered invaders in my opinion.

The bell gargoyles should be an epic fight. I coop them still, (with my +5 mace and sunbro lightning spears), but more and more often I see another phantom take them both down with about 4 or 5 swings of their lightning Zwei. Terrible.

Griefers are generally less skilled now due to the popularity of a certain thing...

But still though, that sounds like a great victory, well done for making the little kid mad, I hope you sent a witty response to him to help cleanse his troubles Bow

I know what you mean bout the OP phantoms.

As for my own experience, I had an attempted griefer recently. I was in the kiln waiting to forest invade when a dw shows up in all paladin armor with a bkga and Sanctus. I greet him with a how and he goes for the bs. I roll away and he whiffs. He pulls out the stone sword and 2hs it, using it's r2. So I 2h my MLGS and use it's r2, interrupting him. So now he goes back to the bkga and pulls out a talisman. Guy spams it god knows how many times and I dodge most of them. On I guess his last cast I roll in and stunlock him, but let up and back away to see his next course of action.

He runs away like a pansy and I follow him to just before the cliff and narrow walkway, where he bolts across to the other side. I just menuswap to my DSB and hawk ring, taking care of the black knight and then waited for him. Menuswap back when he comes back with full life. The rest of the fight is me slapping him around, him fishing for bs, and running away to heal. Finally he tries one last trick, TWoP, and for that I just used fire tempest, stagger and then killing him instantly.

My story is completely unexciting. I was in the Burg, sl 12 or so, got invaded, stood there staring at a guy in heavy armor with Quelaag's Furysword and Artorias' Greatshield. Two hits took me out.

I mention this for two reasons, it led me to this forum eventually, as I tried to figure out how it was possible, and more importantly because a few days ago I skipped the Burg and went straight through Havel to the forest, when I got back to the Burg eventually I'd forgotten I was human. I got invaded by a guy in Giants', MoF, and with Quelaag's Furysword. I was playing my sl 387 character. WHOMP, and he was dead. He gave me something like 450 souls.

    Sweet justice.
