fire keeper soul question

Im in duke archives and near entrance to crystal caves. I hav e a fire keeper soul i want use to plus mt fask. My question is i want to upgrade my estes but i cant cause im not near a fire keeper.

Can i warp to firelink and upgrade my estas and warp back to the bonfire outside crystal cave? Or will it auto rest me at the firelink shrine?

Also is there a map for crystal caves some paths are hard to fig out where to go.

I don't think there's an easy way to do what you're trying to do. You could warp out to the 1st bonfire in anor londo, provided that the firekeeper there is still alive in your game. That way at least you'd be close. That's about the best you'll be able to do though I think. Shouldn't be too hard if you know your way around the staircases though.

There may be a map somewhere online if you do a little digging, otherwise, just take your time, use a ring of sacrifice if you're worried, and use prism stones if you have some.
Or you could do the bold thing and go human and summon someone who can lead the way.

Warp to any Fire Keeper Bonfire, do not rest at that bonfire, reinforce your estus, homeward bone and it will take you back to the last bonfire you rested at not the one you warped to.

I can confirm that I do it all the time.

I frequently warp places then forget to rest, then die and respawn at some bonfire halfway across Lordran. A minor inconvenience but I always kick myself.

Happens to me all the time and I hate it

I think you can also light a bonfire and it doesn't count as resting in it. Useful when you want to be able to warp there later but first use a homeward bone.

I do this all the time. I use Homeward more than any other spell in the game.

I didn't know you could reinforce your estus without resting at a bonfire. How? Is it true that if you use Homeward or a bone you go back to the last bonfire you rested at? If so this would be well handy in the Duke's Archives.

I do this all the time. Use the closest convenient bonfire to rest, and warp to firelink shrine. Do not rest at the fire when you arrive run down to the silent lady and do what you need to do. Homeward bone and you will be where you started. I do ths to buy poison arrows, but I just jump offte cliff instead of homeward bone. ( Only when I spent all my souls on arrows)

I am a little shocked that this is not common knowledge. I warp all over the damn place then homeward bone back to where I last rested.

Get to the tomb, rescue Rhea, warp to firelink, run to the church and buy wrath of the gods, bone back to the tomb with my lovely new spell.

I can't even imagine playing the endgame without this convenience.

Me too, homeward & homeward bone are just awesome just for this reason.
