A question about Crystals

Not about the Crystal Weapons that have actual Crystals, but the Weapons that you can ascend to become crystal weapons. Can you buff it with resin or magic to do more damage, as you can with a raw or normal weapon. I am just curious if you can or not.

If you want to use a weapon that can be mass-bought, like an uchi, you can make crystal ones, and move on to the next one when it breaks. It performs better, but you can't repair it, so you won't want to make crystal weapons with rare weapons like Estoc/Iaito/Claymore, as you only get one per playthrough.

I think he wants to make his demon great hammer crystal, he can farm new 1 up anytime it get broken, plus the ring he is after is the east wood grain ring, which makes the durability last longer.

Too bad the great weapons I use are all rare.

A helpful tip here. You can actually infinitely use a crystal weapon if you have the materials.

Upgrade it to level 5, use it until it's about to break, go to a blacksmith and un-upgrade it to +0, re-upgrade it again. Upgrading something repairs it, so you could also use a +4, wait until it's about to break, then +5 it, for 2x the uses.

Obviously this costs materials, but will allow you to use it forever. East-wood grain ring is a good way to make sure it doesn't break as fast, but it's only 2x as long. the DGH is a good crystal wep because it will still have a lot of durability as a crystal, and will last a solid 10 hours in PVP before breaking.

I was told by a friend that you could do it, so let me go verify right now. I have several crystal weps with me.

Edit: Bah, I do not have any embers on my characters, lol. I have no need for them, so I never pick them up. I'll have to try to find someone to confirm this for me.

.Ok, it does work, but not +5.

You can use a +4, break it, upgrade it, then IMMEDIATELY downgrade it again to +4 and it will repair.

You can not use a +5, then do it however.

To answer the follow up question, a +4 crystal is stronger than a +15 normal in the cases I've seen of it. This will however cost you a slab ever so often.

you can alway trade for the sacks dude. i have 4 but im i love the dgh.

I already said that you can get 2 hammers in total. I know about the sack, I trade a sack every MG unless I need something for my lore, such as the witch's ring or such. I know about the hammers. Sadly, I use the first three always, for +15 regular for one, and the other two both fully Occult and Divine, due to my build. Good substitutes in Certain Situations, I can say.

The Crystal DGH, Although functions as Raw weapons, is more pricey and a gamble for effectiveness, as the DGH requires 46 strength to wield one-handed (I prefer to use both 1H and 2H for different situations), and the scaling would get decreased. Still, I will check it once I get my second sack. Never used crystal Weapons before. Sad, really.
