When From or Bamco actually confirm (or not) this DLC for consoles then stop whining about it. Seriously these threads are repetitive and devoid of fact or meaning. Until someone officially says something there is nothing to talk about! But no. Just because nothing has been announced means that From has betrayed the fans! Has morphed into EA! Will turn into World Of Warcraft! etc etc etc etc.

As long as its related to dark souls its fine, thats what the forum is for. But you are right repetitive threads are annoying, im sure they will stop when they announce dlc (hopefully)

I agree warrior, people are worrying too much, it's obviously gonna end up on consoles, but makes sense for them to delay DLC release until after the PC version has been released.

Also, when people say they've lost respect for Namco and FROM... I think it's a little naive to think they want DLC before the PC version has been released, simple marketing strategy says you would never do that.

They probably will say there will be no DLC for consoles.

If they do release it, it will be a few months after the PC release.

More likely they never do, because it looks like From is on a strict budget, so I doubt they would build the DLC to work on consoles at all.

Buggy, it's been said before but you know that FROM develops content for consoles then ports it to PC? They don't develop directly for PC at this moment in time, was in an interview.

The new content will have been made using the way they created the game originally, but then just ported the xbox version onto the PC like they did with the original game.

To me, the only reason they won't release would be to keep their word on not bringing out extra content, which I admit is possibility.

Well I was talking more about even just working on creating a way for console owners to purchase it, or bothering to find a system setup so that live will work when some players have the DLC and some don't.

Thats not hard, release an update containing the dlc and make the actual download you buy the key, then both systems contain the information for the gear so the game can do its math, and coding the ability to pick up the new gear into the key would prevent the new gear being traded to players without the key.

I want DLC as much as the next guy, and yeah, I have a thread stating that a petition should have been started over it (and one was), but that was waaaay back when they first stated that no confirmation on console DLC could be given.

But anyways, my point is that I think some people are acting a bit ridiculous. I personally don't like the idea of a PVP arena, it kinda throws the whole covenant thing out the window. But as for leaving entirely just because From hurt me because they didn't release dlc for the consoles, thats a bit much. I love From Software, and I'm neutral with Bamco, but From has done nothing but make games that have littered my childhood with amazing fantasy stories and imagination. Everyone makes mistakes, and in some cases, its not theirs to make.

For example, I bet some of you think its simply a couple copy and pastes and suddenly the extra content is console DLC. I'm going into the business of gaming, and it is not that easy. They need to get permission from Sony and Microsoft, then they need to pay them royalties simply to put it on their system. They also need to wait until a certain amount of the DLC sell before they will see money come back from it. So its a risk vs reward factor. Being about an estimated 20-40% of people who play video games get DLC, and they sure as hell didn't sell 1 billion copies like COD did (why are so many people stupid), they don't truly know if they will see a reward out of putting DLC on the consoles.

If you want to attack anybody, go stab Sony and Microsoft a couple thousand times. All they do is bleed money anyways (which sony could use for a nice security team.)

Although I think 40% buying this DLC is the minimum, but maybe my oppinion is too subjective, because I'm too damn excited about it!!!!!

@chaos, its a bit much as you see it, as I see it, I deserve the same loyalty I show From my purchasing their games legaly and new so they see the money, when i could buy used or pirate, I'm making an investment in their company at extra cost on my end. So, if they betray that loyalty by not making available the content my money helped make possible, then they lose that loyalty and i stop going out of my way to make sure from makes money off of me because they're not using it in a manner that allows me to see a return on my investment.

From a business standpoint, just for you.

I think we are going round in circles again, having the same debate. I'm with the OP, although I don't think I would have used such blunt language. Let's wait and see what From decide to do.

You certainly are right from an investor point of view, and chaos is certainly gunning from the developement side. But overall, any additional content is just that: Additional. It is in the hands of From to decide where the cutt-off lies. But if you are truly concerned, be proactive and right a letter, start a web-site, or develope your own game! Lol, not as likely perhaps but I'm just sayin.

Agreed. I'm pretty damn pissed about the DLC for PC, as IMO the consolers made the series what it is, but I'd never leave From out in the cold.

Dark Souls is the forst game I've gotten actively involved with and in all honest I couldnt have asked for a better forum community.
