I can't remember

Sorry about this but I asked a question about Palladin Leroy and I can't remember which it thread I asked it on, so I'll ask again.

On first playthrough I never found Leroy in ToG. Where is he and do I have to be human to meet him? If I don't meet him will he still invade on the way to Nico and, again do I have to be in human form for him to appear? That's two questions I know but I hope someone will oblige.

In the catacombs you have to drop down from the broken bridge after the second bonfire to find his phantom. In the tomb of giants he will appear whether summoned or not in the catacombs as a red phantom and attack you at the ed of the ridge where the golden fog gate is. yes you have to be human for him to invade.

The broken bridge is just before the titanite demon and you should be ale to see the ledge below if you look to the right of the bridge.
