    Frodo Baggins build help

Post by Imarreteet23 on Tue Apr 17, 2012 8:31 pm

Hello all, I was reading the Lord of the Rings last night, when it suddenly hit me to do a Frodo Baggins build! I have the basics down, but i want some help with stats and weapons.

I was thinking of using the Ring of Fog, to mimic the ring of power, but was wondering if I should use the Hidden Body spell as well. Then i would wear the slumbering dragoncrest ring, because Hobbits move silently. Thoughts?

Then i would use either a short sword or a mail breaker, but that really depends on if I will be using this for PvP as well. And finally, what armor should I use? What does Frodo wear in the movies if anyone has seen them? Thank you in advance.

P.S I am still on the first book. No spoilers!

P.P.S Dont ask me why, but links to the character builder site don't work for me. Please don't post those. Thank you!

He wears very light but very protective chainmail under his vest, a tunic, and later, a cloak of pseudo-invsibility. He should use a shortsword +15 with DMB to replicate sting and its special property. I'd use Ring of Fog, Oolacile Catalyst (gentle magics fit with gentle hobbits), hidden body, chameleon, hush, Lingering Dragoncrest or slumbering dragoncrest depending on whether or not you were invading or hosting. You could be part of the Zena Peddler Princes or something, that'd kinda fit, and then only break out the shortsword in case of an emergency. Frodo doesn't use a bow, doesn't use offensive sorceries, doesn't use offensive miracles... maybe tranquil walk of peace? It's kind of hated, but fits.

    I'm totally making this build...

Meets Red dragon on bridge, steals loot from under dragon's nose, narrowly escaping with his life...

    End of playthrough.

Wrong hobbit. Could almost dupe it for Bilbo though.

Tranquil Walk of Peace for simulating the Ring's power? Also don't waste Att on hidden body, it only last 10 seconds. Use the Ring of Fog, also what Quarik says about DMB, he used a much shorter sword (like a big dagger).

Right. So shortsword with DMB, Wanderer's set with no helm, Ring of Fog with no hidden body, and, because i'll probably be hosting, Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring. No TWoP though, my hatred for TWoP is to much to actually use it.

TWoP to be a not directly offensive miracle. You'd need to be almost exclusively melee though. Personally, I'd switch out the slumbering ring for hush and the lingering dragoncrest. Might affect DMB and if you've got an extra level or two throw it into att for hidden body, the double invisibility is actually pretty good.

Quarik I don't notice a difference in the stacking invisiblity of RoF + Hidden Body. My Priscilla cosplay uses both, and I really hate Hidden Body. It's duration it's too short. Ima try Hidden Body with Ring of Fog to test if you notice a difference, but try it with 1 att slot. Don't waste another Att slot for that crap, please, it is heavily nerfed.

I'm not sure if it does stack, but I think I heard that somewhere and some people I fight are more transparent than others.

Actually guys, I was just on my pure stealth build, and I don't think Hidden Body and RoF stack at all. Or, the change was so miniscule I barely noticed any difference. So, no Hidden Body for Frodo.
