Is my pvp set up good? Empty Is my pvp set up good?

Whenever I pvp I usually where heavy armer (havels) and i have any weapon that can stunlock someone. My other weapon is the crystal catalist which i use for my magic. Is this a good setup or is it considered over used? Is there a setup than anybody can describe to me that might be better or just for me to try. I have almost all armor and weapons so if you have any tips than just tell me.

it depends which weapons you are using, the bk weapons are overused but theyre overused for a reason, theyre good. the armor(havel's and giant's) is deff overused, if you dont wanna look like all the trolls/anti trolls you see everyday you should just aim for 54 or 77 poise and pick armor with good defeses and looks good.

For armor, use cool armor sets like black hemmed, elite knight (good for poise), ornstien's set, brass set, steel set, and palidan set. All of those are good armor sets without being overused. Mix and match, too. A personal favorite is the black hemmed hood, because it looks awesome with everything. Have fun!

Also, use different weapon combos. I often try a new weapon set every month. This month looks like it will be the whips. bows could be refreshing or even a pure caster type may be interesting. Experiment use the wiki and the calculator...

...and I usually choose armor that I find aesthetically appeasing over practicality. It's even a fun challenge when you aren't choosing something just because it has the best poise. You could also roleplay a little. if you go to the Covenant section of the forums there are plenty of player created rp groups to join or you could take a theme and build that way. All of these are fun in my opinion.

When I first got into PvP, my initial reasoning was to basically max out everything. Highest defense/poise, weapon with highest flat AR (mostly greatswords or BKGaxe), and the biggest shield. But the more you play, the more you start to find your own style and tactics, which usually requires changing a lot of that stuff up. You'd be surprised how much your playstyle changes day by day. The biggest tip I can give is to experiment. Try some of everything to see what you're good with. And take note of other playstyles, as well. Getting smoked by another player can be a great learning experience.

Welcome to the forums, by the way.

As a begginer to PvP in this game my only advice to use equipment you like and then just aply mad skills to them. I never backstabb (neither roll or lag), never cheap shot with WoG spamming and other cheap tactics. And I still have more than 50% kill ratio if its just 1v1s. I dont use the best armor, and its not always I can use a fully upgraded weapon, but when I take a hit I take it like a man and try to come up with a new strategy.

The main reason why I like this game is that its very much about skill, if you choose not to play lika an *** that is : ) And also, I have no experience from 120+ PvP but when invading with 60-120 i often get 20k souls + which indicates that my opponents may be at much greater sl than me.
