Well since this thread is derailed now anyway. You just wait to see what I've got cooked up when I get back to my X-box later this month.

I wanna revisit that shield challenge, and I've thought up a complete build for it too.
I'm going to PvP with shields, and I am -going to win-. You'll never look at greatshields the same way again.

I've seen a video of dual-Bonewheels invasions. It was actually a pretty effective build.

Wait until you guys see my bonewheel shield build. I'm sitting on a small mountain of footage and most of it is really good stuff. I use a bonewheel in my right, crystal ring shield in my left with a jagged ghost blade L2 and a bandit's knife r2 (for when they run away). I have yet to edit it because of the new quarter, but if you guys like that sort of things I'll make a thread and post a link or something.
    /derailment

Parrying is good so long as you know their attacks and can tell when they are going to do a shield bash. One good stagger is all it takes on that ledge.

No, that thing is hopeless as far as bleed is concerned.

Dragonslayer Great Bow from the area where the pink demon thingys are (or were, knock them out first). No problem, knocks them off their feet and you can just saunter up at your leisure and enjoy the view.

Problem is most players don't have access to that bow by that point of playthrough 1. Though bows in general are an easy way to take care of them, poison arrows is what I used my first time through.

The only way you would even be able to access it is by passing through the silver knights once already actually. You'd only be able to do that tactic on NG+ or if you were so angry you felt like going back just to kill the knights.

Could always do the old school method. Get some poison arrows and poison the archer.

I always use the poison arrows, its the least frustrating way of dealing with them.

    How to Anor Londo Archers:

Run as fast as you can to the top, then roll towards the archer on the right, as an arrow will come at you, if you're fast rolling it won't hit you, I'd also recommend low poise to prevent being combo'd on, if you have low poise one arrow will knock you down so the second won't hit you

Now get to the knight's melee agro range

parry him and riposte him over and over again until he dies

If you want the treasure repeat the same method, run as fast as you can to him after killing the right archer and then parry him when he's in melee range, it's a Soul of a Hero, aka 10000 souls

I don't even know the spot for easy poison arrow hits. I'll have to learn it someday maybe lol. I have 2 methods:

    1. Casters: Hidden body --> blow up the archer before it really can target you.

    2. Anybody else: Take any medium shield upgraded even a little bit or better. Run up near the archer, rolling through the arrows once you're on the same ledge as him. Then block once he takes out the sword.

That's right. You don't need to parry. You can simply block, letting the shield down between swings for stamina if you're running a heater or something. Each time the silver knight hits you he'll push himself back a little bit. He will literally smack your shield and bounce back until he launches himself off the edge.

Repeat on the other archer or just continue on to the bonfire. Basically if you have a shield (even cress, grass crest, heater etc are good enough) it's just a matter of rolling through 2 arrows. If you face so that your back is angled into the wall or straight parallel, one arrow hit won't kill you even at base vitality either.

There are two spots that are safe from the Archers arrows. They are against the wall next to each pillar. You can aim high and slightly to the left of an Archer and infect them with poison arrows. The Archer's arrows will hit the ground just in front of you.

In ng, you only have to infect them once and they'll die.

You mean the pillars with the lightning gargoyles on the low ground just before ascending towards the archers?

I guess I have just missed the sweet spot in the past. I'll have to look into that if I do another run and stop by the female merchant before going up there. Thanks.
