You can trade or degrade found weapons

If you find a lightning weapon you can degrade it to +10, but that's about it in that regard. You'll have to go up an elemental or faith/int scaling path. Lightning is actually going to be out of reach for you as well as Crystal.

i killed him for the first time recently since i was doing a pure pyro build. hilarious that he has a hammer in his hands, and is sitting in a room full of weaponry, but he wants to brawl bare-fisted. but then From decides that his corpse is just gonna be there twitching the rest of the playthrough, making you feel like a jerk

His fists aint no ordinary fists, they are fists of astora!
I accidentally hit him once, he stood up and clocked me so hard i died in a hit.

Regardless, you lose out on the normal upgrade trophy, as it requires you to get a weapon to +15.
