There's enough time to get in a quick nap during the wind-up animation, AND the recovery time takes forever also. I've only had the nerve to throw it out maybe fifteen times in duels because I know I'm almost definitely going to pay for it. And I almost always do. Getting to the point, my question is does anyone have a particular circumstance in a match where it's generally safe-ish to go for it? Like during wake up after knocking down an opponent? Something like that? I love the sword, but being limited strictly to R1's is a bummer. Thanks, guys.

You are being informative with this thread to me, btw. I was considering using the chaos sword for some pvp because of the r2 function. So, I am very interested in anybodies thoughts on this as well!

single hand r2 for no lock dead angle
two hand r2 for wake up attack
I am using it at sl120 at the undead burg
it still does decent damage at that level, average arround 2XX one hand, 3XX two hand
nothing wrong with the weapon really.......other than killing yourself once in a while LOL

Oh, I know. I use it pretty much exclusively, with a shotel for turtlers. I just wish it had a little more flexibility, you know?

the r2 is kind of unsafe against poise warrior
it will get poise BS even if it hits
so I only use the r2 when they are one hit from dying

That's a good call. I'll try using it as a finisher in a few matches and see how it goes. At 40 dex, what kind of damage can I expect out of it?
