Cant the pyromancy "Undead ramport" be much usefull?

Post by T-King-667 on Fri Apr 13, 2012 6:57 pm

Not sure if this would be the place to ask the question and to whoever mod reads this feel free to throw this thread in another category if necessary. So the other day i was just imagined What if there was a summon spell to summon a ai character to help you at anytime. No not an npc like Beatrice or man eater mildred but just like a balder soldier or an hallowed soldier and maybe it could even work much like the "summon" spell in fable on the original x-box did, when you first get the spell it would be the weakest thing possible and in that game's case it was a wasp and once the wasp kills something stronger than its self it would turn into whatever it killed that way whenever you summond it afterwards it would be whatever that was instead. but anyway enough babbling about another game. So then i found the pyromancer just before quelaag (and i dont know why she appeared for me i dident even have a pyromancy flame in my inventory) And i found the spell "Undead ramport" and in its description it mentiond that you can turn enimys into alias so i found a pyromancy flame and gave it a go so theres a few problems with it right away.

    1. Its melee only range and can be extremely difficult to use if one does not have poise.
    2. When you do turn enemy's into your companions they stay stationary and do not follow you.
3.The spell only last's 30 seconds and then they become hostile once again.
4.when you upgrade your pyromancy flame your charm duration dosent extend So they will only be your companion for 30 seconds all the time.

And heres a few good things i found about it.
1: Works well on archers: since the enemy stays stationary archer is pretty much the only good choice but actually works rather effectively at times (go to undead burg at the bonfire kind of close to the undead merchant and the area used as a pvp battleground by some.) And as soon as you leave the bonfire kill the few enimys that run up the stairs after you but dont kill the archer once you killed the few enimys use the spell on the archer and watch him go lol.
2: can be used for the first boss battle by climbing the lader and casting the spell on the two archers, they will fire at the boss from a decent range.
And thats all i found so far and clearly the spell is only much of use on archers so have you guys used this spell? and if you have how did you use it in "usefull" ways?

Skeletons don't work. However, the butcher in depths does. the crystal hollows do. The hollow thieves do. The barbarians do. Didn't try the ghouls, but probably yes it would work. I carry that spell everywhere. Fun as hell, makes me god.

Sorry. I tried. Does not Work. Probably because they are not hollow undead, but instead skeletal.

The Egg carriers do not work either, so don't try. The Steel Knights do, and is fun to keep the steel knight in church as pet. Didn't try channeler, as they hop a lot. Maybe the boar.

What about silver or black knights. A Dark Wraith getting hit right off the bat by a knight they are expecting to help them could ruin their day.

Won't work. Tried Black Knight, and Silver Knight probably not as well. They are not undead, but golems (as they seem to show).

The archives, undead burg and parish, the second half of Sen's (the roof), Blighttown NOT the swamp, and the painted world. Those are good locations for rapport. You can rapport the infected hollows in the painted world too... Don't know about shield blobs, thou.

Anyone tried it on the armored boar? It is attracted by the alluring skull, so there should be a slim chance.

there should be a complaint for a patch to make this spell better make it so its active untill the enemy dies, and so that the minion follows you like a summoned npc would and you can summon up to 3 at a time (haveing 7 would be like an army lol) And maybe have them follow you into boss fogs? What do you guys think? because in all honesty with the spell only keeping the minion stationary and lasting only 30 seconds is pretty useless in most cases.

^I think that would be a very cool spell, and would perhaps even warrant a new playthrough from me!

Because in all seriousness i was actually planning on going to the boss fog at sens as a phantom in another persons world, kick the sniper crossbowing undead up to the spiral stairs and up to the roof (ofcourse i would kill the roof bombthrower first) once i finally get him up there i would get him up to the wall and when the host would enter the boss battle i would us undead ramport in him and see if he shoots at the iron golom and in between casting the spell i would use my bow aswell.
This should work since in some cases like the gaping dragon you can actually snipe it from the ledge while the summoner is fighting it in the arena.

I don't know about usefulness, but this spell is fun as hell. My fav spell by far. Btw, does it work on hollowed NPCs? Like Oscar, Logan, Laurentius and any other NPC that can go hollow at some point.
