    Swordmaster PvP build

    I'm currently planning on making a PvP build centred round this. No sorceries, no miracles and the only pyromancy is power within. This is designed to maximise the amount of weapons I can use and take full advantage of stat scaling and pure, physical damage. The key point of this build is versatility - being able to switch out your Demon Greataxe to a balder side sword in an instant in combat, as an example. Also, no elemental weapons. Then it just turns into another generic Vit/End build.

    I will be wearing mainly heavy armour and I'm currently using a +15 Darksword which will be my main weapon. At the given stats, what will the scaling output be?

    Any other suggestions and critique are welcome.

    there's a couple of people in FC that have one of theose and theyre one of the hardest hitting non buff builds in the game.

    Ok then. Do you anywhere that will allow me to check how much damage a weapon will do at a certain level?

    i dont know about the number but it's gonna hit hard since it has a C in both str and dex. claymore is awesome at that level too but yeah it's really overused.

    Good build Rant. That is similar to my 40/40 build. I really like it. I can use virtually every weapon in the game, and nothing will hit harder, unless buffed.

    The only downside is lack of a strong buff.

    you dont really need buufs with this build imo, you can still kill someone with 4 or 5 hits.

    46 strength is useless unless you use a weapon which requires this very number, while I can't remember one at the moment. Stat scaling stops at 40 for str/dex, then you just get +1 every 2 levels, rather max out dex/vit.

    If you are already using power within, Shotel +15(or similar, *) as an alt. weapon is almost a must-have. 100% physical damage won't do anything through shields, and additionally Eagle/Havel's Shield/etc. users will have a free counter attack on weapons like the Darksword/Balder/etc., and a heavy weapon won't rescue you if the opponent is a good player despite the noobish look of his Havel's.
    And your build has to work vs Dex-builds and Tanks, elseway matchups have a far too great impact and your character will seem useless to you.
    *Shotel only if you want guaranteed damage, if you just want something to put pressure upon Tanks, then you can also go with Claws or other glove-like weapons, because they won't put you into a stunned state when you hit a heavy shield.


    I have a "Swordmaster"-build who relies on Chaos Blade, though I use common pyromancies too, I also play it two-handed sometimes, against pros too. If you are able to constantly use dead angles, you can use a similar weapon like mine, having an incredibly wide angle upon roll-attack while being very fast at the same time.

    Also using physical damage only can lead far too easily into the wish to backstab all and everything. If you really want to stand out, you have to withstand this. (Not judging or assuming anything about you as a player, just saying.)

    Charcoal is what I use. But, it isn't a strong buff.

    But, Rant's right. I really don't miss buffing. Because, once my opponent's buff is gone, my weapon will be much stronger and their's will be weaker.

    Hey, i killed you earlier his. Your not bad in a fight.

    @reim, i keep an alt weapon for when buffs fade, being prepared for when it ends is more important, imo, than building without them

    ex buffed gs, 800+ a hit, will 2 shot many players. But when it fades it still hits for 300+, usually closer to 5 meaning its scary either way, buffing is just for an edge early fight.

    Strange, the third time you tried to pull of a good fight while I was still a random invader. The first two times it was DMB rapier +WoG-Tank-spam -only-. Such acts can't deliver a comparision of our skills, it can only prove me being far superior, not the opposite, so they don't count. (lag aside)

    Also, it's pretty easy to assume by simply looking at your opponent if he's worth a "real duel" or just being removed from your world.

    That's true. Another advantage of a 40/40 is you can have 2 weapons to use at any time. Not just one for buff and one for when the buff wears off.

    Or, if you're like me, I sometimes accidentally change weapons instead of going from 1H to 2H (or vice versa). LOL, oops. Look Skyward

    @reim, like a spear to dodge poke big weapons and a bkga or gc to crush small weapons. That could be really frustrating to try and deal with.

    My current setup is a rapier to pokey-pokey-PARRY! and a GScythe for power and dead angling (whenever I learn to do that, LOL).
