Lot's of people do it apparently, but I didn't know that until I joined this wiki and realized I wasn't a special little snow flake happy lol

Anyway, if you gear your play-through and character stats so that you waste no level ups and then get/upgrade the best equipment for that build you can pretty much beat the whole game at a very low level. How low you can go, like limbo, is a matter of skill. I think the lowest I could conceivably get by Four Kings with is... 13? I gotta do the math. But I'm sure people have done it at lvl 1.

    - Pick up a pyro flame if you don't have it.

    - Grab the Iron Flesh spell.

    - Quest out to the forest and pick up the Grass Crest shield and Stone armor set if you don't have both.

    - Go to the Catacombs to kill Pinwheel for the Rite of Kindling, then boost up the firelink shrine bonfire for 20 estus.

    - If Pinwheel does not drop the Mask of the Mother buy it from Patches, the merchant before the Gaping Dragon. This is optional, Mask of the child is also good but you might need the little health boost more.

    - If you don't have the Ring of Favor and Protection kill the dishonorable jerk in the Undead Parish for it (gold armor, locked in a room by his lonesome). Also optional but super helpful for me.

    - Return to the Undead Asylum and fight the Knight for the Crest Shield which has 80% magic defense. Optional again.

    Now for the fight...

    Equipment

    - Wear the rings of Artorias and Favor/Protection

    - Wear the stone armor set.

    - Weapon hand Primary: Best damage weapon/ Pyro Flame

    - Weapon hand secondary: Crest Shield/ Grass Crest Shield

    - Armor: Stone Set, optional mask

    - Attune Iron Flesh

    Battle Plan

You're going to bum rush the first King with your Crest Shield up and your Pyro Flame in your weapon hand. He'll throw a magic blast at you and with the shield with do very little damage. *At point blank range cast Iron Flesh. Switch to Grass Crest shield. Switch to your weapon. Go Two Handed. Go to town.

    * It sounds stupid but switching both weapons, in the heat of battle while getting wailed on, and then going two handed is deceptively tricky. You need to do it fast because every second counts, but if you mess up at any point you will lose a few seconds during the animations and the boss is just going to keep smacking you. Screwing this up can get you killed so try practicing it.

After the first king dies you need to rush the next one to spawn and rinse/repeat the steps. There's no fancy maneuvering to do. The fight is very straight forward that way. But you are in a race to see which of you can kill the other the fastest. And Four Kings can one-shot you with many of his moves at a low level.

This is one of the most frustrating encounters in the game but it's very doable. I lost 250k souls and 14 humanity down there. But after becoming a Dark Wraith I made it all back and then some in like two days. Don't give up and you'll get through.

No problem man, anytime. You can mix/match the armor with other sets but I use Stone Armor for its Poise. You need a high poise so that you won't be interrupted while casting Iron Flesh (to drastically reduce damage taken) and while using the Estus Flask to heal. You need to have a bunch of Flasks because you'll have to heal often.

Havel's armor, if you have it, is a fine substitute for Stone armor. Might even be better but I don't have the stats in front of me to compare/contrast. Stone is just the easiest suit that you can grab early on which works.

I thought the nerf on iron flesh made it next to useless? I am stuck on 4K at sl 10 but maybe I should give it a whirl again with iron flesh equipped.
