I got it finally. After frustration and attempts at trading I finally got it.

The bleed sucks so hard. It takes so many hits to make even normal enemies bleed, and its next to useless in pvp.

Does anyone use it and think differently? I've tried it out a few times with bad results so far.

I haven't really found much use for it either. High stats requirements, poor payoff. Low damage, takes forever to bleed anything, and has no crit bonus. For a weapon of its class, it's wholly underwhelming, in my opinion.

Yeah its pretty weak. FROM did an awful job balancing the lighter weapons in the game. Same with the lighter armors.

Exactly. More damage, more bleed build up and a better crit rate.

I was so excited to get another so I could Duel wield...but It just doesn't seem worth it.

and I have posted about this before and how I could NEVER get something to bleed. I have been bleeding things with the Notched whip though, I'm starting to love that whip.

I think the only point in dual wielding is to use a high poise damaging weapon in your offhand, and use a high dps weapon in your mainhand whenever you stagger them
So for example ricards strong combo is probably one of the highest DPS moves in game if not the highest, ideally you'd stun them with your mace and execute them with your rapier. (Its only highest when you have it buffed)

however with how crippling backstabs are, and chain swings tend to be more harmful than good, i dont know how practical it is. But i could see some fancy painting guardian sword combo one shotting a dude after staggering them with a mace.

lol, a lion tamer! Another positive of whips is that they can't be parried... To be honest, not many people try to parry in regular PvP, but it might come in handy in FC. I haven't really tried the whips though, so I don't know if they'd be usable against good opponents.

I think Occult is good against bosses... But I'm not even sure of that.

I checked the wiki for some info, not sure if it's really accurate though (for instance, it mentions "invaders" and says it wouldn't do much damage against them, but I don't know where this idea that divine is supposed to be good against them comes from--for one, invaders are human, so if anything occult should be good... but I digress, this is for another thread):

If you want style points, and do a good damage, something similar to the Priscilla's Dagger it's the Painting Guardian Sword.

Don't let his small size fool you, it's not a dagger, it's a Curved Sword. At 45 Dex, Painting Guardian Sword +15 does 408 pure phys damage. In terms of damage and moveset it's very similar to the Falchion, BUT the Falchion doesn't cause bleed! The PGS does! Also it's strong attack's moveset it's gorgeous, some kind of dancing attack.

Oh man, I never realized the PGS caused bleeding! I have a toon that's been using scimis and falchions almost exclusively, will definitely look at the PGS for it now, thanks.

Yep Blaine, I often PvP cosplaying a Painting Guardian and it is a very deceptive weapon. Add a SLB to it, and you are a force to be reckoned with, and my toon isn't even built for using it haha. Just be wary of roll and pokers, you'll have to rely on parries to fight them in a no BS fight, otherwise BS is the only other really option.

Same here, though I'll be damned if I ever get one off in FC. Randoms are easy to lead, but it's like you guys just pretend to be falling for it to spite me. sad

Yeah, it's almost too easy in regular PvP because nobody expects it, so they're sloppy. They spam R1, keep repeating predictable patterns (rolling-R1, running-R1, block->R1, etc), bait easily (throw some empty R2s and they'll try to punish you for them, only to be parry punished! Or even just getting within melee range of them works for most people to be baited into getting parried), etc. Lots of fun!

My problem in FC has been the opposite--I've had to get used to play in a way that I won't get parried. I'm a very aggressive PvPer, I like to control the fight, but that doesn't work when my opponent is a parry-hound! I've been able to land a few myself, too. But it's just so much easier in regular PvP.

I haven't been to FC in a while so I haven't faced you guys with your greater dead-angling skills yet. I want to see if it's possible to learn to place myself so that, when you try to dead-angle, I'm actually placing myself right in front of you so I can parry it.

Technically it is possible, but lets just say it would be harder than parrying a rolling Great Club attack.
