I assume its inhabitants are just undeads that are mutations from the swamps.

Mutation probably has much to do with it, but it is also bordered by an entrance straight into the Demon ruins. Which explains all the much demons around. I figure the original inhabitants are the blowgun snipers, who've devolved into rather primitive tribals over time. The rather large, lanky, reptilian guys are mutants, I figure. They have a somewhat elongated and beastial face.
Other than that, I don't know. Too little information to go on. It must have been worth something at some point though; Yulva the Sealer went there for a reason.
