Help please?

I was looking to make a bow build, and make it a faith build. What would you suggest as far as Soul Level, and gear?

I know that there is a ring that boosts range, and the DMb does more damage on the build calculator than the pharis bow which scales s in faith based on the wiki chart.

if at all possible I would love to stay in between SL60-95? Just any general advice for this adventure?

I don't know how to make a good SL 60 Dex/faith build hybrid, so I'm listening too.

there are a few things to consider when making this build.

The first is how much pvp do you want to see and how do you want to go about pvping. Ie Hosting, darkmoon, darkwraith, forest hunter, red sign, gravelord ect.

Next is there a certain weapon you WANT to use or do you want to max out damage output.

Also are you looking for a light build, or a tank build?

I want to max out damage but stay a faith hybrid build. Additionally, anywhere from light to medium weight is fine. Pvp is definitely a goal and I typically go for an invader type style, mostly Darkmoon, but am open to wraiths as well. I would like to stay within the FC code if possible. Fast roll is my friend right now.

So if you want to stay in the FC sl range (120) this is your basic faith/dex build and will get about 440 damage out of the bow. You're also open to use many different weapons so you can always have a backup. You can lose some vit or end to increase faith or dexterity to get more damage, but this seems to be a pretty good medium.

If you'd like to max out damage I recommend using a chaos compound bow and fire arrows. I believe its the strongest arrow/bow combo. So you could essentially get a character to the bows base stats and then upgrade vit/end until you reach the desired level. However incorporating faith into that build will be a bit harder if you're still apt to keep the sl lower.

I just want to play by the rules. I hope one day FC sponsors a Sl. 60 play style.

Would you happen to know how buff are applied to bows? Does the arrow need to be buffed (if applicable). What is the strongest arrow for the darkmoon bow?

For instance, if I use Sunlight blade, does that apply damage to my shot? What kind of gear am I looking at?

No SLB won't work for Bows.

You can however have the bow in the offhand and have a buffable weapon in the main hand and use a resin.

I like to use Poison/Moonlight Arrows for the Darkmoon Bow.

So buffs don't work on bows or arrows. But power within with increase their damage. Along with the red tearstone ring.

The general rule for getting the most damage out of an arrow is to match damage types. Fire bows need fire arrows for ideal damage. The darkmoon bow ironically needs darkmoon arrows.

Gear wise I'd recommend you do this:

Keep the armor light, you need to be able to move and physical combat isn't your primary form of combat so you shouldn't weigh yourself down with poise and defense. I wouldn't worry about equipping a shield either.

Depending on how intensely you plan on using miracles I'd consider the dusk crown or crown of the darksun along with the ring of the suns firstborn. You other ring will obviously be the hawk ring.


I took it down to sl 70 and gave you some equip to work with. The silver knight strait sword is as a backup weapon. In case using your bow is not an option. The spells you use are up to you.

definitely looks like a troll/grief build lol.

caroso does a build like that, it uses the dragon slayer bow, avelyn and some backup swords/daggers. Its sl 34.

if u realy want it between 60-95 i would go for 60 wigh faith/att as main and enouth dex to use a bow(dont know if thers a dex requirement) i would use the fastest bow u hv at +15 and used poison n whatever u want for arrows i would poison n then finish off with miracles or arrows id ware dwgr and whatever u want

I have a bow character that I made before, was quite successful with it really but the way to play it is really different. Lots of spacing, quick thinking and using the area required. I dont have the exact stats but what i remember is its a low level archer. about 60+ SL or something.

Put dex and str to be able to wield your preferred bow. I used Lightning upgrade path +5, I think its the composite or long bow im using. Then my endurance is about 27 and then 50 vitality. I use poison arrows. Rings used are the favor and protection ring and the fog ring. I use Light armors to the Shadow gear from the swamp.

when fighting, just make sure to stay at long range and get the jump on the enemy. always try to be on the move and use the terrain to your advantage. Snipe when you are in a safe far distance, at mid range you can just lock on and take shots then move move move when there is threat. If you feel you have the advantage already, go in use the bandits dagger or you side weapon for the kill, usually a backstab or poking weapon is great because of how light the weapons are.
