I am doing an intelligence build right now, and I would like to use the moonlight greatsword. At what level does this greatsword really "shine"? Lol.... or start getting good ?

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
Having 35 End and 45 Int the MLGS really is a great weapon. I would even recommand to mix it up and use it`s R2/RT moves, you can repair it later at the bonfire.
But I only use it as a backup, my main weapon is a +15 washing pole with crystal magic weapon buff: More range, faster AND more damage.

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
Moonlight Greatsword is simply excellent for Mid-high level mages.
While you need to have at least 35 endurance to make it useful for combos, The power will outshine most weapons, even if the attack rating difference is minimal, simply because it is PURE magic damage.
Even at as little as 36 the scaling will be good, but you need to get the weapon to +5 so that it is better than other options, around +3 it is better than many anyway.
At 40 INT upwards, it's pretty much unmatched, unless your mage likes having things like a lightning Zweihander....

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
The moonlight GS is a fantastic weapon. It does good poise damage two-handed, and it chews through turtles due to the low-magic block of virtually every shield. The base damage is decent, and S scaling for the +5 upgrade is awesome. If you ask me, it starts to shine as early or even before Int 30. Don't be fooled by the sort of low AR at that level. Pure magic damage goes through only one defense, and it's usually people's worst or second worst defense.

Thanks for all the input everyone, when I get off work I'm totally killing princess big tits and farming souls for endurance. Actually....I gotta go get the damn sword first..... any easy ways to cut off his tail? I know I tried on my faith build for the hell of it, but I couldn't get behind him fast enough....:-(

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
I actually just cut his tail off. Took about a dozen tries, but I finally got it. Some things to remember are
1) You can run to the other side of the board at any time and none of his attacks will get you.
2) Hitting his tail will typically cause him to spam his tails at you for massive damage, use a hit and run technique.
3) Go for the tip. It's not easy, but hitting the base will not cut it off.
4) It's easiest to kite seath to the middle of board before circling for the tail. He likes to back himself against a wall making it impossible to get at it.
