So I was invading in Anor Londo today, good runs, some I won and felt bad about, but eventually, I got the biggest slap to the face possible.

It all started as I invade one set of guys, they were right at the boss gate, taunting away, arrogant pricks the lot of them. They start using magic, pyro, and the Golem Axe when I'm in range. No harm, they all have heavy items, long story short I took a MGS to the head and died.

No problem, it was a 3v1 on uneven ground, and this is my heavy setup that has 1/2 roll.

I move around to get some water, lost in thought and get back to the game.
I invade again. Oh wait whats that? There was something I forgot to do? Naaah.

I invade into darkness, likely farmers says I, so I go to the main chamber. First Tweedle Dee tries ambushing me with the DGA's AOE attack in the usual Ganking spot at the top of the staircase. I dodge around and get away. after dancing around I get a backstab on the Tweedle dumbass (Host) only to see Tweedle Dee wait for a backstab like a good little Ganger for a one-hit kill.

No big deal again, first round was against 3v1 gangers, second against 2v1 farmers (they had the same armor set so likely communicating quickly.) Then..I saw it.

All my souls....gone. My humanity...Gone. It was all gone! All 99 humanity and 2 million souls! (At level 50 mind you!) The most I've ever had with either. All gone. Thanks to two sets of Assholes.

    😢

Damn never happened to me since I never got 99 humanity. I know it must be very frustrating to lose all that.

That almost happened to me once. I failed to kill a host, spawned back in my world and used the Red Eye Orb right away. I get the "Invading as Black Phantom" message and think "Nooooooo I forgot to pick up my bloodstain!" as I run to it and pick it up right before the loading screen appears.

I've lost 99 humanity on another character, though. Happens! You'll get them back. winking

That's a tough call, I sympathise, although I doubt I'll ever have 99 humanity or 2 million souls to lose. I'm pretty much hanging on by the seat of my pants most of the time.

Just had an idea. Wouldn't it be handy if you could keep your spare souls in your Bottomless Box like you can keep your spare humanity, weapons, armour etc. Guess it would make the game too user friendly though and we can't have that.

Or at least some sort of 'soul storage' with interest would help. But I also suck at the game. I felt awful when I used my last remaining humanity in NG++ for Bell Gargoyles (I'm horrible at them for some reason) and subsequently died from a phantom outside the fog, but wow...99 humanity and 2 million souls while farming. I'd be in tears. Farming for me is about 50k souls before I get killed a lose my body.

Dark Souls is very dificult. Soul storage would make it easier.

It would definitely take some of the stress out... so no! Like those times when you're going through Duke's with 100k souls on you just to be able to buy all of Logan's spells when you get to him--just wouldn't be the same if you could stash those in the BB then pull them out again when you're safely a few meters from him... Now you have to either decide to use them all up as you get them, or risk losing them all for the convenience of being to buy up all of Logan's spells at once.

And we already have bankable souls anyways: the consumable ones. If you really want to stash souls for a rainy day, use up all your liquid ones as soon as you get them, and save the solid ones in your inventory. Then you can use them safely when you're in front of Logan.

That is awful Yarxov, I remember how upset I was when I lost 1 million souls and 23 humanity (approx.). I can only imagine how awful it must have felt to have lost what you did.

Yes, carrying soul consumables for Logan is a good idea. Rings of sacrifice are also your friend. I always carry 10+, and put one on whenever I find myself thinking "Ok, got all the money I need to buy ____, now all I need is to breeze over there and get it. What could possibly go wrong?" That's usually when the game hurls you off a cliff or you hit the X button to activate an elevator switch and instead backroll into the elevator shaft for some reason.

To be fair, you didn't lose your humanity because of "two sets of aholes", you lost them because you forgot to grab your bloodstain....

    ....just saying. silly

I have lost 99 humanity before though so I do feel your pain.

Another somewhat laborious technique for 'banking' souls is to buy dung pies from the female merchant and then feed them to Frampt when you wish to redeem the souls. The ol' denture snake will give you exactly the same number of souls for eating a dung pie as you paid the merchant for it, and dung pies are not a limited stock item. This basically means you can save an unlimited number of souls.

Actually cant you only save up to 99 of each item? I pretty sure because I was abusing prism stone pricing to get free souls but had to do it in lots of 99.
