I want paper armor for Dark Souls!
Just saw it on Mythbusters (not the best video, but it's all I could find: http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/mythbusters-paper-armor-aftershow.html) and I was surprised by the results. I won't go much into the history of them because I didn't really pay attention, but they were made in China until the 19th century, or so. Anyways, the results of their tests were, essentially:
Paper vs Steel:
- Paper has better mobility, same defense, little durability.
So paper armors, compared to heavy armor (or maybe medium sets), would have:
- Same Defense
- Same Poise
- Less weight (half)
- Much less durability (like crystal, maybe, 10% the durability of a similar set)
I haven't decided if they should be repairable or not. Maybe you'd have to buy a new set from Domnhall every time it breaks, or something.
Who else wants paper armor?
