I mostly use equipment for fun or style.

A fine example of that it's that I use a Divine Sword +9 just because I like it. But I know a Balder Side Sword would be a lot better.

Also I'm in the Princess Guard and instead of Replenishment I carry Soothing Sunlight just because I love the orange explosion it causes when I cast it.

    Anyways, style points.

What do you use for pure aesthetic purposes or just because your like more the moveset/look of a certain weapon/armor.

I like to wear the Xanthous crown in hopes that I'll make someone crack up. I also like to wear Logan's hat when I'm a mage just because it feels so fitting.

In most games e.g. fallout I wear things that look good ad match up. Like I only use energy weps with power armour cause nothing else fits. But in dark souls I wear things for functionality. Im currently wearing Smough's armour because its the same weight as stone but much better defense. I just cant bear the thought that if I wore better armour I might have survived where I died wearing better looking armour.

Yup, ALL about the style. I just switched my main guy to full Black Cleric gear, including the Velka Mask, and am two-handing the Moonlight Butterfly Horn. Never really worn that gear before, rarely used the MBH, and I SUCK without a shield, but I just decided the look is too badass to pass up right now.

    Gwyn's set isn't too bad at SL120

That crown makes me want to throw up though, so I use Havels helm

I do cosplays so it's pure aesthetics to me. I gotten much better at PvP because it gives you some handicaps (like 0 poise on light armors).

Yeah I'm all about the inefficient armour choices. I hate ugly gear. Someone brought up fallout just before. I run armour in Fallout 3 wearing the Adventurers set because hellthere would never be enough suits of Power Armour around to fit me and my followers.

Plus I love the whole I have so many pockets look. Very Survivorish.

What I use for style of efficiency? I'm highly partial towards the Sunlight Maggot, Big Hat, and Crown of the Dark Sun as headgear, and the only shields I actually like are the Dark Hand and the Sanctus. I'm also fond of Gwyn's and Gwyndolin's robe sets, as well as the Witch's and Channeler's robes. Though honestly, if some of the more effecient options *coughfamilymasksandgiantsarmorcough* actually looked good I would probably use them too :|

It all boils down to one thing for me; if you don't like looking at your character, how can you like playing as them?

I use the great club. Style is not important to me. However I do use the +5 Chaos partizan for its elegant sweeping attacks.

I like to cosplay when I invade lately to make things a lot more fun. Shiva of the East invading the forest, seems fitting after all.

Thank goodness Havel's gauntlets don't look as goofy as the rest of the set. I use them for a functional dose of poise so that I can wear cool looking other gear. I really like the iron helm with great lord robes or dark armor. Also, the elite knight leggings are boss. When it comes to weapons I'm less willing to compromise, but man, I wish I could make Priscilla's dagger viable!

Im using full solaire armor atm on my lowbie sunbro helper and its awesome.
The sunshield is also pretty good when upgraded.

And i seem to get ALOT more summoned than when i use some other gear, i think everybody just loves Solaire lol.

^It's ironic that to give the trust of Solaire you have to Kill Solaire xD

I usually have 2 setups, one light, one heavy.
My light set is just Black Leather with Shadow for 1/4 roll without Havels Ring
My Heavy is a 'Dark Knight' sortof thing, Cleric helm, Dark Armor, Steel leggings and Giant Guantlets.
Looks badass and has almost 400 defense at sl 50

Both are functional and have 'style'

I change my gear for almost every battle. Both weapons and armour. I don't like to stick with one combination for too long. It gets boring after a while. That's why my inventory is just full of all kinds of weapons and armour. And I don't care about the effectiveness of my gear.

One of my favourite setups lately has been a hollow warrior with an axe. I actually killed Gwyn earlier today with that setup. Well, there was a phantom aiding me. The battle axe is in fact a relatively good weapon. Cracked round shield... not so much. It's probably the worst shield there is.
