Noob question:getting help for boss

I am a relative newcomer and enjoying the game. I am inviting somebody to help me with a boss right now (gargoyles/belltower).

Sadly, there is a PvP guy that constantly kills me with one hit, now I am out of humanity and stuck. Same thing happened to my friend who was trying to meet me there to help with the boss. He is experienced but says the pvp guy must be super high level because he kills with one hit.

The pvp guy has been hanging around for the last two hours, killing us over and over again.

So looks like the only way to get to play the game is to either do it all in single player and not online! ??????

In answer to your question - Undead burg is sadly full of people who are low level, but have very high level gear. The person killing you can't be high level (unless you are because you have been ginding levels) because they cannot invade someone of significantly lower level than themselves. People often either do low level runs of the game in order to come back to burg with really powerful gear, or they use a glitch which we will not be discussing here to move equipment from a high level character.

Honestly, your best bet at this point would be either to beat the gargoyles solo then move on to the next area where there will not be nearly so many griefers, or to unplug your PS3 from the net, and summon Solaire to help you. His summon sign is right before the fog gate leading to the gargs. With him you should be able to kill them pretty easily. Once you are out of Undead Burg, plug your PS3 back in and summon your friend.

If you are out of humanity, you should be able to farm up to 10 points of it in a given area (i.e. Burg) before you kill the area boss. I would suggest doing this offline and then going human to summon Solaire to help you.

This happens a lot in the early part of the game before you've done both bells. There are always invaders but there are 'griefers' in the early levels with starting equipment who can kill you in one hit..

He isnt super high level as you have to be lower or equal level to invade as red phantom..

I recommend that you if you need help, just summon solaire (he's just before the gargoyles fog door) he's more than enough help with the gargoyles.

Try playing with your friend once you're in blighttown, there's less invading there.

My friend has played the game through twice and is now on a new char. He says that the weapon the PvP guy had was one that you get much much later in the game, so something is strange about the whole thing.

Anyway, I guess I will try it with Solaire once I can get some humanity again.

Yeah people do this by doing low level runs through the game with the intention of griefing new players with their decked out super low level toons, it's kind of sad but hopefully you wont have too much trouble from it after a while

If this was the only way to get it it wouldn't be nearly as widespread. It's not easy to do a low level run. It's the BB glitch and here's yet another example of why it really needs to be patched.

Yeah, really annoying idiots when I'm SL10 and someone wacks me with a Lightning Uchi, definition of jerk.

As for humanity, that can be rough. Couple options - If you have a friend, suggest a place where you can lay down summon sign (or visa-versa) that isn't commonly used and PvP with them. Each time you defeat them, you'll get humanity. Make sure it's close to bonfire so they can grab their souls back as needed.
If that won't work, rats seem to have a good drop rate for humanity.
