Is Chaos Blade even good??

I currently have a chaos blade and a lightening Uchi +3 and of course the lightening is stronger but can any1 tell me what's so good about the Chaos - since it firstly requires me to have +10 uchi which in itself is much stronger than the chaos but does not self inflict!!!

Really annoyed since i did waste a lot of souls on something that may not be useful unless i have 99 dex - i don't...

I didn't care for it as a fire uchi will out class it. You have to run around with a bunch of humanity for it be better. It will max out at 10 humanity for added fire damage(?). I think the wiki will have exact numbers.

its pure physical damage but scales with dex and humanity, it also seems to have a slightly higher stun rate than other katana's, ask the resident chaos blade enthusiast Serious_much (though he may be on hiatus right now.)

It is very good when you get the R2 move down. As the previous poster mentioned it does scale with both dex and humanity making it a pretty damaging weapon for a DEX build, maybe even one of the best.

Though each hit does drain a small amount of life its more that made up for the AR (I got about 420ish per hit when I was dueling my light armoured buddies with 40 dex and 50 humanity).

The R2 move is also a killer when I connects. If it hits a shield then it deals huge stamina damage oft breaking the opponents guard or sending them skidding back across the ground. Should it hit anythin but the highest of poise individuals then it knocks them to the floor brilliant if you are being farmed.I got all three of the losers in one hit on the stairs once.

its a really good weapon... most people pass up the boss weapons because they cant be buffed and seem to be weak... but after you get used to using one they are badass... the dragonslayer spear used to be considered the worst spear but now 1/20 people are using it... im using the lifehunt scythe even tho everyone says it sucks and yet i do decently with it(maybe i will make a build guide)... in general force yourself to use the chaos blade with 10+humanity and even if you lose stick with it... it could become ur favorite weapon. not to mention its the best looking katana... be different than those idiots with bland lightning weapons ^^

Yeah I took it with me through Anor Londo at SL 40 and +5. Every invade succumbed to the R2 attack as they either hadn't seen it before or thought they could under and behind it quickly.

Suffice to say that its not possible.

what happens if you dual wield them? is it effective in off hand?

All kats are effective when being Dual Wielded you just have to watch that eacj alternate strike i.e r1, l1, r1, l1, which is slightly faster in my opinion that the typical r1 spam, does take off your HP. Although that said when Dual Kating in DkS as I do all the time now you end up using on Kat dominantly and the other for back up. SO all in all its like using a single chaos blade but without a shield.

Well right now my lightening uchi +3 is getting an output damage rating of 421 and chaos only 240 bearing in mind i have exactly 10 humanity - 11 including me in human form...

I have become very used to the katanas especially the Uchi so the transition would be easy but i just hate the self infliction even though vit = 29 at SL 56...

Right now stick with your Uchi. Just keep in mind that eventually your Lightning weapon damage WILL be obsolete. I would suggest avoiding using your Slab and keep it max at +4.
At higher levels the Chaos Blade shines. I have a toon for FC (SL120) that switches between the Lifehunt Scythe and the Chaos Blade and at 40 Dex, 10+Humanity it PWNS.
