Dafaq? If he does my crystal weapons, then something strange is going on.

I realize it's from Oz, just as Emit Force is from Catarina. Outland spells are bizarre as they have no connection to current spells. Maybe Catarina has it's own religion?

It's fine Dough. I really enjoy these speculations and theories. It's why I started this thread.

So now what i'm wondering: if places have different religions, then shouldn't you only be able to do miracles from one region? Like, if i practice the Catarina religion, then how can i do emit force as well as karmic justice, which is from Cairm? Wouldn't that be like a christian trying to practice buddism?

Possibly. Quite frankly, the religions of Dark Souls confuse me to no end.

They draw inspiration from both roman, christian, and norse religions from what I've seen. Lucky me I'm a pyromancer so I only have nature and Quelana to answer too.

Gratis. I've still 3 hours but it's fine.

Alvina is the leader, so I do report to her. Le sigh, I wanna be on the hunt right now, so I can finally test out the Demon Machete.

back on topic, what is the consensus on Soul magic?

Well, it is generally agreed that archtrees are the original catylasts. It is also agreed that casting sorceries is extremly taxing, thus the limited uses. Furthermore, it is hypothesised that soul magic might actually draw its power from your very soul, which is why you need intelligence, so that you can form the sorcery. And lasly, soul magic seems to be the most scientific of the magic schools, so it is possible that a large number of sorcerers are atheists.

That looks like a good summary. Now do we move on to topic 3 pyromancy or was that already covered? I'm sorry professor but I forgot to revise the subject, too busy in Melee 103 - Your club and their head, they should meet.

Almost straight copy paste from my earlier post -
Pyromancy draws on the power of the first flam, just updated a few thingse and the chaos flame through the pyromancers own inner flame. The person can only draw so much of each power through their own flame before the flame is exhausted. Resting at a bonfire refills the flames reserves and allows new castngs. The chaos pyromancies draw upon the chaos flame while the normal pyromancies draw upon the first flame. Upgrading the casters own flame increases the amount of flame they can draw BUT the flames are more powerful using up a greater amount of their own flame effectively cancelling this out..

Yet aspects of Pyromancy also work like the fire of kiln, the flame of Bonfires in that they are empowered via humanity. We can see this in the fire of chaos.

From a technical stand point that is correct. Chaos fires feed off from the bed of chaos and humanity. Normal fires are fed by the pyromancer's own humanity and his will. Atleast that's how I see it by lore. I am really enraptured by it, it's no wonder I can come up with that entire lecture.

I wonder what would happen to pyromancy if you don't link the flame. Would all pyromancy be lost?

Probably not, remember Pyromancy was born out of the flame of Chaos as we know it, but the flames of many have caused it to split. If you killed all of the teachers of Pyromancy in the world, yes. But I'm pretty sure the same thing would happen if you killed every teacher of Sorcery or Miracles. And then, there are always pioneers.

Yes. Thats why the witch of izalith tried to recrete the second flame. because when the first went out the fire sorceries died.

Fills me with relief I will never lose my flame. ahahaha, it would seem I've come to nurture my flame extremely well, seeing how well it can toast anyone who comes against me now.

That leaves the dragon head stone and dragon torso stone, the only 2 catalysts for the Path of the Dragon covenant.

But riddle me this batman, why would Pyromancy still exist after the bed of Chaos? I feel its more so unlike the original flame, this new form of pyromancy doesn't draw from anything else. Meaning that as long as one pyromancer exists, this flame lives on through its many embers similar to the flame of disparity. Thus, Quelana, Mr. E, Laur, and you basically become the last living relatives of Chaos, and continue the legacy passing it down over time.

I see the stones as such. They are required to gain the head and body, and then you use the stones to use the breath and the roar.

One of the teachings in pyromancy is sharing the flame. Sharing the flame creates a bond between the two, either friendship like Laurentias, or mentor and student, like with Quelana.

If theres one thing FROM should have done it was make your actions have effects. Now yes they already did that for NPCs and stuff but not for bosses. Killing the bed should undo demons and stop the chaos pyromancies from working but it does nothing. So I could suppose you could argue that pyromacers dont actually draw from either flame but from their own flame, which mutates everytime they get a new spell and basically stores that spell within the flame.

"Online play item. Find a player who has acquired a Dragon Scale and invade that player's world to pillage it.
An art of the transcendent apostles who pray to the ancient dragons. To be alive is to be vulnerable, and the fiery Gods are no exception. The apostles seek another plane of existence, which transcends life."

Just felt like I should post these here for quick reference.

I suppose Pyromancy is closer to Sorcery than to Miracles. The pyromancer shapes and forms his flame to use it. It seems that if it was a real thing, it would be that those who are creative can use the flame for any situation. Like a utility knife. Every spell is the Pyromancer shaping his fire to create a new use. The mists are likely the ash of the flame, tainted with the waste of the inner body (if you understand that you will understand why blight town's swamp is poisonous) undead rapport is an interesting spell that uses the hollow's desire (most likely for humanity) to control them, and as I said before, use the flame to actualize the inner self.

Thank you tolvo. I do believe the stones are a sort of catalyst to transform and use the dragons' natural abilities.

Thank you Tolvo. In the dragon head/torso it says that its a "rite." Isn't a rite like a religious ceremony?

Edit: And wouldn't that technically mean that the path of the dragons is somwhat faith based?
