holy **** axes are OP! Empty holy **** axes are OP!

Post by chaosrave Sun May 27, 2012 10:26 pm

i just found out that axes are freaking beast! I never used anything but rapiers, spears, and greatswords but due to some management issues I was forced to rely on the butcher knife for about an hour and I have to freaking say it is one of my favorite weapons now... wide sweep attacks with high poise breaking and only 4 or so blocks of weight higher than greatswords... i have no idea how the hell i have never realized this before and why the hell dont more people use axes?!!

p.s. just found out demon greataxe scales S with str!!! at +15... WTF!!! BEAST!!

    Because axes are not stylish.
Also, I think you should refrain from replacing letters with numbers to curse. It's filtered for a reason, and we can still understand you with the filter.

Axes have insane power, but they are very easy to dodge.
And if you miss a swing, you are left wide open for backstabs.

^ thats why. the dwgr makes dodging axes rather easy, so it becomes a game to bait a swing and roll bs the user. I like the regular axes, but greataxes are to short and slow for me to want to use them.

I have a Grant build, his secondary weapon is a buffed Butcher Knife. I like it because it has long range and good poise breaking ability. But one missed swing lets you really wide open for roll backstabs. The Hand Axe is freaking fast, if used with a shield that thing hits as fast as a katana.

I love the Hand Axe. It's relatively ignored but is a blast to use. It's a lot like a morning star without the whiff penalty. It hits hard and fast which makes 2H swings great at breaking through guards.

I have never tried the hand axe before. I figured it was useless as someone who spammed their weapon against it would always win as it almost has no poise breaking power

I've never used it in SL120 PvP, but in lower SL PvP I've had great luck with it. Once I learned when to 2H it and hack away I started to really appreciate it.

they're actually really good and pretty awesome if you know how to use them which is really hard and you will need a lot of practice, specially against backstabs since if you miss youre gonna get bs'd. the rolling attack cath a lot of people by surprise since the spinning attack is the fastest attack they have but you'll need poise because of crappy ranged, also the reg attack that does the ground pound might have an aoe but i need to tes it more, i just got into them myself and i like them a lot, specially the DGA which i think its faster thant the GA? if you like them use them and get better.

Axes are like Halberds except instead of great range, they have great poise breaks. Halberds get punished hardcore for mistakes...
