    Divine or Magic Claymore?

Post by ViralEnsign_ on Wed Apr 04, 2012 7:07 am

Before my Artorias Character can actually wield his famour blade he needs a proxy weapon to ease himself into the greatsword weapon set and also for low levels.

So what I wouldn't mind knowing is which, divine or magic, is better for a low level player in terms of.

AR, enemy resistances (invaders mostly), and general badassery.

Which ever one I pick is going to become my Artorias' dominant stat (between either faith or intelligence).

    Ta guys

They will both be dealing magic damage, the question is which stat is going to be higher at first, as well which one you wish to access first. You can get a +5 Magic Claymore right off the bat, and you'll have to wait for Duke's for +9/10. For the Divine, Butterfly needs to be dead and then Tomb of the Giants. I would go with Divine only for the fact that it will make the Catacombs easier, and you'll not have to switch out weapons down there.

Also just thought this might help you decide, the GS of Artorias deals Divine Damage.

Okay I'll run Int then. I'm always up for making a Jack of All Trades build. Comes from my days as a Sentinel in ME2.

Any suggestions or armour then almighty Tolvo?

You can't go wrong with the Elite Knight set, or Silver Knight Set. While Ornstein and Smough have their own Set's, who's to say Artorias was not the head of the Silver Knights, or a Knight of Astora? That armor is found in the Darkroot as well. I've always associated the Silver Knight armor with Gough, so why not Artorias? Though if maybe you want to make a reference to the fallen Artorias, the Dark Armor.

EDIT: Actually, we don't know when Artorias died. His Sword actually looks like the Black Knight Greatsword, he could have actually been a Black Knight...Damnit Lore stop dragging me back in!

I'm thinking Elite knights helm plus the warriors set. Light, efficient, and pretty cool looking.

The Warrior set is very under rated.

Lol I'm just trying for unique. The helm is good I just need matching gear.

Long pants of some kind. A breastplate maybe but not too rounded. Ragged even. Glove like gauntlets.

If you're just starting out do a catacombs run to get +5 fire. It cost almost the same as a +5 divine or magic with greater power for lower levels. Also just like +5 magic it's accessible at the beginning of the game.

Edit: In terms of Cosplay you'd want divine since Artorias is a divine weapon. Though I personally prefer Occult.

PS: You can get the large divine ember at the beginning of the game. All you have to do is kill pinwheel. Pinwheel & Butterfly are joke bosses if you simply summon the NPC phantoms to kill them.

PPS: You can also farm the white chunks from bone towers located in the same area where you fight the hollow clerics to save Reah which is right next to a bonfire. All can be done before placing the lord vessel.
