    Hackers......

Post by Railage on Sun Apr 01, 2012 5:23 pm

I really wish we could list names of the people we've encountered who are clearly hacking.

Just for people to use as a warning when they get invaded by that person, so they could just quit out of the game.

When someone is wearing full havels with the shield and DSS doing light rolls and not taking any damage from like a chain BS of 5 whilst wearing hornets, it's pretty uncool..

Yeah, it is uncool. I see where you're coming from. But, Trolls love to be reknowned and hated. Starting a list of bad trolls will only make them feel better. They may see the list and look at it as competition, and become worse (just like the indictment list).

The best thing to do with trolls is nothing. Ignore them. Ignore the hatemail. And, don't give them any credit for being a good troller.

I agree with Reim it would be best to just to let them starve trolls seek infamy they feed off of the hatred and rage of others so the best way to kill trolls is to starve them deny them their Hate fix. Then they will stop when they find out they don't have an audience

It's frustrating because we can't do anything about it, I guess I could try and get invaded again by this turd and record it with my phone.

The funny thing is he had an MLG gamer picture, I'm not the least bit surprised by that.

There are hackers on the PS3 version, they're just not as common from what I've heard.

We don't allow people to post gamertags/PSNids without permission simply because it's not respectful of people's privacy. I appreciate that it kinda sucks in this instance because of this person's behaviour, but that doesn't justify compromising our morals in order to call him out. The best way to deal with people being childish is just to ignore them as others have said.

Besides, as has already been said, it is exactly what they want. Why give it to them?

In over 1000 hours I have only run into 2 hackers.

Unsurprisingly, they were both terrible. I pounded the living hell out of them. But with their virtually infinite health they just would not die.

Kill them with kindness people. The thing I like to do is offer these folks an invitation to the Ladder in the Forest party. Refreshments consist of cool refreshing river water courtesy of your favorite AoE spell, boot to the midsection, etc.

Reporting hacked accounts may not go very far, but it is a pushback.

Using bleeding weapons to kill him, taking 30% of his health bar each time the bleeding bar inflict. Mostly hackers really suck in pvp thats why they modded their stat. They are smart enough now that they will not get to close to the cliffs for u. But if u have paitent to bleed them... 30% health of their life each time. U still can kill them. Trying not to let them using humanity or u have to start all over again. The point is do these hackers worth for u to use ur humanities or flashes to fight against them??? Thats why i am always in darkmoon conv. With my crystal painting guardian sword ready with darkmoon blade and sunlite blade, and litgtning Uchi. ready for hackers. Cheers

    I jinxed myself, lol....

....ran into another hacker in the Burg with my high level toon. He invaded and sent me a chat invite. I declined and told him I had no mic, (which is true).

I then beat the living crap out of him, but he never even had an HP bar. After a few minutes it got boring and since he was using the Bandit knife, and I assumed he had the Hornet ring on, I spammed R1 got parried and died.

    We then had this exchange:

Me: "Hacker I assume? You never had an HP bar."
Him: "You lie, I have 1 billion hp, lol!."
Me: "That is quite a bit silly ....probably just too much to show."

And that was it. I assume he was bored and/or disappointed because I wasn't raging at him.

1 billion? That would be great for PvP sparring, where the goal is to practice. Too many times we have killed each other accidentally. I miss Second Chance.

Yeah but what are the odds of getting a billion hp for the sake of sparring and you opponent having the same amount

@Magnetic North: I might be misinterpreting your post, but it seems to be written in such a way so as to draw people into an argument. I'm not really sure that is the best way to go about this topic, you might want to clarify what you mean by the above post happy

This topic... was done in November of last year. The suggestion in this thread would be abused by sore losers and furthermore, it would cause a lot of strife and hate on the forums. This was explained in November. My post was written with smilies to signify my intentions. I am now not writing with smilies. See what has happened? I hope this clears up any confusion you might have about the mood I mean to post in is.

I hate that Smiles are no longer a sign of light hearted behaviour. Sad really.

Yup, your position is much clearer now, thank you happy. I ultimately agree with you in that making public hacker lists would probably be detrimental in the long run. It would basically be a method of allowing people to troll others, creating a toxic atmosphere (even if hackers are being bad apples silly).

In regards to your smiley comment, I don't think that they have fully lost their light hearted meaning. However, the issue with text based communication is that it can be difficult for a reader to understand the intentions of a post. When conversation are done in person, there are facial expressions and vocal tones that humans naturally use to better understand the meaning behind what a person is saying. As these are lost in text communications, it becomes harder to understand these meanings. Therefore, it is important that people can do what we are both doing now, which is being calm and collected enough to explain in greater detail what we meant big grin

I've encountered one, and he tried to SUMMON! WTF! You've got a bandit's knife and infinite hp! I almost kicked him off the edge though, so that was nice.

I got invaded by a hacker when i left the painted world was desperate for a bonfire as i had 1 estus flask left, as soon as i got off the loading screen i got invaded i was like sheeeet killed all the painting guardians and waited for the invader, as soon as he walked into the church i started barraging him with arrows none did damage but showed blood I just assumed it was lag, he got up to me and hit me taking nearly all my health now, i managed to get a backstab which did no damage, realised he was a hacker and ran like the wind out of the church, he was close behind and i managed to turn the lift to the roof as you cannot be damaged when you are turning it, i manage to get to the rafters and ran to the end, he took it very slow so i got to heal and snipe all the guardians when he got to me i ran around him back to the back of the church rafters took out my dragon slayer bow and blew him of the edge. Was very happy haha now known as the hacker slayer bow silly.

    TLDR
Against hackers, dragon slayer bow and high ledges are friends haha

Ran into another several times now in the Burg.

However his 62k health is no match for my Force, and the ledge.
