Decent dex scaling: B. Good damage at +5: 247. Rock a bloodbite ring and bloodshield for bleed buildup. Theyre not fast but theyre awesome.

I love it. If only it could be buffed. @ 40 dex it has 496 AR.

Also equip the bloodbite ring if you are not going to wear heavy armor. If they bleed out they lose 50% of their health.

I play a level 9 Lifehunt build (lowest level possible to wear it).
It's quite awesome to play the reaper, for low level pvps also useful, as long as you have any kind of additional offhand like GC or a small weapon, because even at low level people run around with heavy armor and 200 blood res.
At high level pvp the weapon easily meets its master, even if the opponent has no armor at all he will possibly have to eat 4-5 hits to receive the blood loss, most 1on1s don't last that long. Katanas or the Great Scythe are recommended because they don't rely on blood loss, you are just scoring when you land it.

    Add:
I also neither use the Blood Shield nor the Blood Ring, if you see an opponent with low blood res, pick the Scythe, he will die first, if you see him having a sheer endless amount of heavy armor equipped, pick your 2nd weapon (Inventory-switching to a Light+5 Claymore is mostly the best choice when fighting skilled opponents).

It takes a lot of patience. Its damage is relatively low (assuming SL 120 PVP) if you don't bleed them, and often you won't bleed people because they (wisely) keep their distance once they figure out the weapon. However, it eats turtles alive, dead angles like a pro and it really tests opponents skill and composure.

i like it a lot. i have no problem with its (relatively) low damage, the bleed effect is awesome when you get it to activate and its attack covers a wide arc. my only problem with it is that its range is shorter than the great scythe, i keep hitting at air when i switch from the GS to it. i really wish that it would have the same range as the GS silly

I'll use a calculator to see if 40 points of strength are worth it.

    @ 40 Dex / 16 Str = 496 AR two handed

    @ 40 Dex / 40 Str = 505 AR two handed

Definitely not worth it. Stay @ 16 Str, 40 Dex, use remaning points for Vit.

The Warrior and Hunter starting classes can use it at level 8.
