No Leo Ring!!!

I finally defeated Ornstein and Smough after 7 very frustrating attempts. According to the Wiki it is easier to kill Ornstein first. Ornstein is supposed to drop the Leo Ring if you kill him first, or if you kill him second you can pick it up from him as well.

I killed Ornstein first but didn't see that he dropped anything, so I whittled down Smough thinking Ornstein's corpse was hidden somewhere in the rubble, and I couldn't really take my eye off of Smough in fear of him sitting on me.

Well, no Leo Ring. Ornstein never dropped it. So, if you are looking to use the Leo Ring, as I was for my Pike build (now I have to figure something else out) make sure you kill Ornstein LAST!!!

If you are on xbox, I'm pretty sure you can have one of my leo rings.

I believe they made it a rarer drop, so if you are actively seeking it your best bet is to kill Ornstein first and if you don't see it quit or homeward out and try again. I imagine you can trade for one, I doubt many really use it.

In term of trading, Mildred's Store of the Damned may have one, you can always check there (PS3 only I believe)

just the other day one of my characters got 3 of them by fighting him first each time.

really? i thought you had to kill him second to get it.

Every time I've killed them, Ornstein was killed second, and it's dropped 100% of the time for me....i might just be super lucky....but i always assumed it was. a 100% drop when killing him second

I really wanted the Leo Ring for my Pikeman build. If anyone on the PS3 has an extra, please let me know. I'll trade what I can for it.

Chumgeyser: Unfortunately, I only have the one so far. However, you might have a bit more success if you make a thread in the trading section of the forums. I would suggest listing some things that you have (say Black Knight weapons, or upgrade materials) that you would be willing to part with, you might see more interest from people that way .

Between all my characters I've probably killed Ornstein first a hundred times or more, and have never once gotten the Leo Ring. I try to kill Smough first at least once on each character, and I think I've gotten the Leo Ring each time.

I saw an early playthrough where the player killed O first and then died repeatedly to Super S, he ended up with several Leo Rings. I'd assumed they'd changed it with a patch.

Yeah i think it needs confirmed and the wiki needs changed. I could be wrong but i know you dont get it until they are both dead now. Its automatically put in your inventory.
