Since everyone here seems to be making a strength build, I thought I might as well hop on the bandwagon. However, I've never made a strength build before: all of my characters have high strength and dexterity, but low magic and faith (in the first playthrough). Between magic and faith, which is better for a strength build, and how should I allocate stats accordingly?

I never tried a Str/Int build. I could try make one, but without dex, the spell casting speed will not be as fast as having high dex.

use msgs,dmg and the clubs. heres my paladin leeroy build;
vit:40
att:14
end:40
str:50
fai:30
you only need 40 str, no more unless you wanna one hand a certain weapon like i did with the grant. also for faith, its either 30 or 50, no in between.

yo dont need any dex(i only have 8 in all my builds, some have 10) since you will be doing all your damage with your weapon, even when not buffed.

you caould also have 27str and 50 faith. 27 equals 40 str when you two hand your weapon.

Out of curiosity, what is the damage difference between a sunlight blade buff at 30 faith and a sunlight blade at 50 faith, assuming Im using the darkmoon talisman?

well, I can say that a sunlight blade with 50 gives ya over 400 damage worth of lightning damage if you use ivory or sunlight talisman. Hope that helps you, as I only got my crystal magic weapon to about 150 or so... course I did use demon catalyst, I had 50 int.

yeah, it's better to stick with 30 fai cause, at 30 with canvas talisman you get 311.4.

Ok I did some research and found that @ 30 Faith the Canvas Talisman (the best at this point) has 172 Mag Adjust. The Darkmoon Talisman has 221 Mag Adj @ 50 Faith. This means a 49 Mag Adj difference, that I don't know if it's worth it. I will test it with the Gwyn's Firstborn I'll make @ 30, @ 40, and @ 50 faith, as he is supposed to use Sunlight Blade anyway.

This is funny that we are all doing similar builds. I have a Faith/Strength build that I just completed. All I am doing now is getting my weapons together. I am trying to decide on a faster weapon or a more powerful weapon.
Rant, it is interesting to see your strength builds as compared to mine. It looks like the big difference is that you take strength a little higher than I do. Here are what my stats look like at SL 120:
Vit 40
Att 14
End 48
Str 30
Dex 10
Res 12
Int 8
Fai 40

it looks good baal but like a said before you should either go with either 30 or 50 faith, no in between because the canvas talisman is at its strongest at 30 then it starts getting diminishing returns, the same with dm talisman at at 50 faith. im gonna make a new one soon, this is how it's gonna look like, its almost the same as yours.
class: cleric
vit:40
att:16
end:50
str:40
fai:30
the rest is base and im not sure wether to go with 50 end for better armor or 50 vit.

str builds are the only one tha really need the 40 end specialy if you two hand your weapon, with 40 end you have room to dodgeonce and attack twice.

The higher endurance works for me with my typical armor set-up and with the Demon Spear in the off hand. I like wearing the ROFAP for the boosts. This is especially true when trying to use the Demon Great Machete which weighs 18 pounds to begin with.
Rant: I agree completely about the diminishing returns from taking faith to 40, but there are also diminishing returns with taking strength higher.
WyrmHero: I used to think the same thing, but the extra endurance does help if you want poise and large weapons. But of course, everyone has what works best for them.

i agree but i like beign able to one hand the DGM so i always get my str up to 40, but i went up to 50 because i wanted to one hand the grant for the rolling r1 attack which was a big disappointment beacause it's not tha strong, the large club does better damage even without a buff. the one im making might be my number one build but i wont be able to one hand some of the weapons i like using just for fun like the DGH and grant of course.
