Anyone played Valkyria Chronicles

If you do you'll know what I mean when I say its one of the few games that I've played where I actually cared about the lives of the characters and consciously fought with all my cunning and tactical knowledge to keep them all alive throughout the myraid of challenges.

I never threw my men against tanks to draw thier fire, or ran them into sniper fire.

I set up ambushes and fields of fire, I always ensured the squad was equipped with the best weapons and gear available to them.

We fought to end racial hate, we fought for vegetables, and when Isara died I swear I cried like a child.

If you've played this you know what I mean.

And that *** of a sniper who killed Isara. God I'm going back to Valkyrua Chronicles just to see the cut scene of the armies on the Naggiar Plains.

Aye i know what you mean, tht sniper made me sooo pissed off, just like when they cut of Roamin out of Unforgotten Realms

The only other games that have successfully made me care about the characters in them are Tales of Symphonia (I can't help but love Lloyd and his crew and all of ther back stories, especially Sheena's (my fave Character btw) having to fight with Kuchinawa over he own lack of confidence when she summoned Volt for the first time, killing half of her village.)).

And Mass Effect (the series) as I just love Tali's character and the whole massive scale of the game.

Successful Media makes you care about it. Few other games do that to me.

Ahh i got bored of ME after the first one and part of 2nd but i still got ME3 to see what its like

I haven't even started ME3 even though I've had it for a few weeks. Just finishing off my perfect ME2 playthrough.

"daddy issues" williams? Really Lol in ME3 it maybe worth it but in ME?

Also I finally saw Tali's face the other day. Officially revealed in ME!!! Totally worth 3 games of speculation on whether or not she was even remotely pretty.

Haha i just took williams as i used her in my squad a lot xD

Stopped playing it after a mission where I spent 3 hours working my infantry members and tank (all well upgraded after more hours of replayed missions) carefully all the way across the map, only to have an enemy tank pop out of cover and in a single turn fire at my tank 4 times and blow it up, making me start over. Life's too short.

<3 Valkyria Chronicles, one of my favorite games out there, I also felt really bad for Sylvaria, her story was really sad .

All three of the games/series that you have mentioned are in my top lists of games, such good stories

Yeah but I hated how they took the series onto the PSP. It freaking sucks that such a good series got taken away from the PS3 community.

I love the game too, btw, it's just an amazing story with a genius... playstyle?

I loved the art and the story. Especially how the whole narrative was told through a history book that you were funding throughout the game.

And how all of the menus were incorporated into the book as well.

That opening/teaser trailer sequence is fantastic.
