I do. I wear the black cleric robe and pharis hat for looks. I could easily wear something better but I can't seem to.

Yup always. Rocking Hollow Thiefs and a tiny wee target shield and a partizan.

Is it worth it to look stylish and lose out on stats?
A million times yes.

If you don't like looking at your character, how will you like playing as them? Looks before stats, always.

Sometimes, my Cecil build will be the first using an equipment setup just for looks, otherwise I'm just whismical about what I wear.

When I host I Cos-PvP, so completely. Painting Guardian Swords dual wielding, Shotels as Lautrec, Heater and Longsword as the Crestfallen, I do it all the time.

Yeah, you have to look good. Giants + mask is just so hideous. I wear things that look good, but of course max upgrade everything and try to at least have 56+ poise. Black cleric robe looks great, so I often wear that with velka's mask or - my favorite - the crystal helm, which sort of looks like Jason's hockey mask. Also working on maxing out a bunch of target shields, because they look good with the robes and everyone thinks they're terrible. Thanks to our awesome shields thread, I figured out that a fire target shield +10 has like 85% fire resistance. Last night I soaked three great combustions with one, then used it to parry the guy's greatsword swing and killed him with a riposte. Got an PM that was just "???" - and I looked good doing it too lol.

Nope - I could careless about looks. I rock a Paladin Armor Breastplate, Hollow Soldier Waistcloth (pound for pound it the highest poise in the game), Child's Mask and Havel's Guantlets. I basically look like a golden-breasted chicken with red legs & feet:shock: . I don't look cool but my battledress has been PVP tested (100+ invasions) and passed with flying colors so I'm sticking with it. I leave being cute for models on the runway.

There are just two types of players:
Who choose armor for looks
Giants/havels mask of the mother

Carphil that is so completely and utterly wrong!
You forgot the third, Havel Legs/Hands, Paladin Body with a mask, god. Jeez man, Jeeez!

Whether it's PvE or PvP I'm fully about what looks cool. My current favorite is Xanthous coat and legs/skirt, Havel's gauntlets, and the black iron helm (same for a female character but no helm). I really love the look of it, but considering my character has a 120 equip load (without ring or MoF) it's about as far from efficient as I could get. It's just so cool looking. (Hideous when hollow, though.)

try a fire effigy shield with the robe, dont worrry about the stability, it sucks anyway.

I choose a mix.
I always go right to the wire with utilising weight to make sure I have best defense/poise I can, but I never let my guy look like a moron, needs to look pretty awesome while swinging a sword.

It depends really if I'm invading or hosting, if hosting I go for looks. If invading, which means in the forest, you'll bet I'm wearing my Paladin Set with a mask. Hosting? Full sets with appropriate weapons and spells.

^That's a good point^. When I do high-level 4 Kings co-op I wear Mask of the Mother despite the ugly. Seems the responsible thing to do.

Most of the time, yes. I love the Black Sorcerers Hat, too kawaii! And it doesn't weigh much either. I also like the Catarina Helm, I love the design of it, but the chestpiece is really, really, really ugly.
I would never go for a complete clash of colors, like Embraced Armor of Favor, Crimson Skirt, and Silver Knight Helmet, for an example.

I try to go for a balance. I'm not keen on the 'heavy' armors, so I try to mix and match some med and light armors that look good, but still give me some decent defense.
