    Armored Core 5

Post by Griever on Fri Mar 23, 2012 10:47 pm

Just wondered if anyone, like me, is tempted to get Armored Core 5 seeing as From are in on the act.

The last core game I played was AC3 which I loved.

I almost bought it yesterday, however I was able to resist since I have not rented it out yet. I started out with AC4 and AC4A, loved how they played out and beat the living crap out of 4A.

I've never played an Armored Core game, but have always loved giant robots so was thinking about picking up ACV. From what I've read it is very online team based.

If anyone here is planning on buying it maybe we could start a Dark Souls ACV clan?

Wasn't trying to imply that we would name it Dark Souls. More about the people from this Forum being in a clan. It could have any name in the end. I have no friends that play Armored Core and feel that I wouldn't get much enjoyment out of the game without a good group of players to team up with.

If I knew more about the series I'd definitely give it a shot, but unfortunately I'm very ill-informed when it comes to the AC series. What genre of game is it, and what's the gameplay like?

Think 3rd person mech RPG doing missions against other mechs of all sizes.

Ah good old Answerer, I loved that fight on Hard Mode. Do you remember Red Rum?

It's been awhile and I sold them off, but I remember the control and gameplay being quite similar to Dark Souls. There wasn't to much story element, but beating the missions did give you more parts, the main draw was online combat.

Yeah this one looks very multiplayer heavy. You acually have to choose an online faction at the start of the game.

I've read mixed review though. Most complain about the single player slog but praise the multiplayer aspect of the game. It seems single player is just a bit of a grind to get new parts, currency etc to jump into miltiplayer with...

That was the case for the previous games too.

It's not a bad standard at all really, alot of online oriented games you just jump in and earn rewards from just doing stuff online. In 4A you had to play through the game at least 3 or 5 times to unlock most if not everything.

    Any team name suggestions?

I have a solo team (Skullz) like many others - forever ronery.

I have been playing on the ps3 and would like to start playing more organized 5matches and have a nice chunk of land and what not
