Support absolutely useless in Dark Souls PvP or PvE?

Hey guys,

I've just made myself a character fully based around support but I find she's completely useless at her job and as a character in general...

All you can do with a support toon is a heal you have to be close by with (which is damn hard in some situations and other will straight up get you killed) and only has 3 uses...

There is no buffing spells for you and others so all you can do it a heal and thats it, maybe 1 de-buff... just seems completely pointless to try playing support for anyone since all you can do is heal and then just add more damage, you would be better off just using your toon as a damage dealer and letting the host heal with flasks :-/

Am I missing something with the support because the only use I could find was the heal and... thats it, maybe TWoP? apart from that its useless IMO.

Yeah I tryed this out have a lvl 120 supprt character and i had to change her to 160 because it sucked so much by the time i could cast heals the host would have just flasked 3 times :/ and we have 1 aoe buff and twop, vow of silence(which f all our support :/ ), and seek guidance which only helps use i think,. i only had 1 time where soothing sun saved me and another phantom we were in the catacombs and we went to the spot where you get the darkmoon ring the host ran past all the skellys so we got stuck fighting them only issue was host couldnt see us so no heals and the other guy didnt have a divin weapon and im to weak to kill them in time we got our *** kicked so i used my heal to heal us both up.

Yeah thats the kinda issue I'm seeing, PvP is waaaay too fast paced for both people to all the sudden stop and have a lil cuddle and heal up, PvE theres just no point.

They need to make some REAL support spells to actually encourage more team based characters, right now I just don't see the point in taking my support any further as shes paper and don't do **** on the support side of things, just end up throwing lightning bolts at bosses non-stop...

Anyone have any idea how to make a support thats actually useful and fun to play?

Please excuse my ignorance...but ..err what is a support toon? I have never heard this term before.

The trident dance might work. But farming for it may take hours and hours.

lmao. seriously if they made support spells that were actually useful you would see EVEN MORE campers farming at spawn points. i still think its ******** that hosts can heal their phantoms i think everyone should be able to heal like demons souls.

I remember my first and only support character, it's a shame really. I always enjoy playing support or a healer, but in Dark Souls I have to do all the work myself haha. Yes with a trident you can actually buff your allies, with the dragon roar you can as well. The AoE Replenishment spell isn't the worst either, usually you can get it on the host and it will help for a time. But as fruit said, farmers would be quite frightening, though I'd find a way around it like any of their tactics haha. What I always thought would be nice is if the int spell that removes poison was an AoE, I would love to cure people with me on the way to Queelag.

It's not a MMORPG.

Just sayin.

For PvP sure, support really shouldn't be ideal. However I do think for Co-Op it should have a place though it really doesn't.
