I think i'm getting paranoid!

the inevitable is happening! Im getting very very paranoid! Only when i'm playing Dark Souls does it happen and It scares the crap out of me every time! About every 5 minutes i will hear an invasion sound and i'm definitely not the best at PVP but i only hear it when i'm carrying a large amount of souls of humanity. I think i'm going insane!

Ugh, I know how you feel. See, I do not have an Xbox, nor do i play it on my PC, but when I got to a certain friends house, I play Left 4 Dead. He likes to play with me, because I am great at being an undead player, as well as a good shooter. However one enemy has caused me to seek it with a passion, without an rhymer reason other than similar reasons as the red dragon on the bridge. The Witch.

Every time I play that game, I can hear her crying in my head, even if she is not even seen in the level. I hear her everywhere I go in loeft for dead when I play. The only thing I seek in that game is to not win, but more so hunt her down. I don't know why, other than I want revenge for what she is meant to be. I seem to have an obsession of egotistic views, apparently. I can't seem to let her win at all, yet I only killed her once with some sniper shots on a bridge.

That voice... grr.

The only time bad things happen in Dark Souls is when youre carrying/retrieving a lot of souls and humanity.

I'm surprised From didn't program things like that. Like giving you the invasion sound when you're in the middle of the swinging axes in Sen's Fortress just for fun. Seems like something they'd enjoy.

To be honest i wouldn't be surprised if they did :x

When I do late night sessions I'm constantly hearing the Invasion sound everywhere I go, thats why I summon people into my world every chance I get, makes me feel safe lol

I do too infact I am actually afraid of going human on levels I know are popular PVP zones. What I do is that I try to fight them near a bonfire so that if I die i can grab my stuff rather easily

Speaking of hearing things, what are those giant footsteps you hear just before entering 4 Kings fog?

Haha, I do that too ARSP, my latest character I made was walking though the undead parish with a +0 scrimitar when I heard that noise and noticed fog covering the gate way to the blacksmith. having 6 humanity and about 12 k souls from not cashing in my taurus run..

Sure enough, smough came waltzing around the corner with a katana and a dark hand. I Danced for a bit BS'd him for 30 damage... 30... damage. I didn't even wait for him to get back up I just turned and ran all the way back to the drake gate. He nearly got me on the way there but narrowly missed me with his katana. I got to the bonfire and 'd as he ran behind me and OHKO back stabbed me. haha, the adreneline..

Even when going through the burg and parish hollow I still hear that noise.

Thats just me trying to intimidate the Darkwraiths...but they always call my bluff.

Lol it's the Drakes trying to aggro but stuck behind the fog wall.

It's one of those ways the game is able to legitimately scare you without having to resort to overly dark environments. You don't even have to be in any real danger, just standing somewhere new in human form is enough to make you want to keep moving

I just went human to upgrade the bonfire in the Painted World and was on tenterhooks waiting to be invaded. Sure enough it happened and I got killed. Know what, it was a relief, now I can get on with my game in peace. Gulp! I just remembered what's at the bottom of the well in the courtyard!

You just need to convince yourself that you don't need those souls and humanities anyways, so who cares if you lose them! Right?

Also: when you die, equip a Ring of Sacrifice. That way, if you die on the way to your bloodstain, it'll still be there.

Now you shouldn't be scared of dying anymore, so no more paranoia!

I hear invasion sounds when I shower.

Not quite the same but i keep hearing the buzzer sound from my work. It's pretty freaky, but obviously it's implications are "come do some menial task for me" rather than "you gonna die, *****"

lol play it in mute like I do sometimes, then you will know what paranoia is.I play in mute mostly because I get bored making new builds or farming, so I actually either put music on or mostly watch series while playing.

But seriously I hear invasion sounds all day long when I first got so addicted to duelling.

that is why i always find have the white soap stone showing in my item slot. i find myself checking it every few seconds to see if it is greyed out.

^Yeah, homeward bone is a good tip. I always look at it when I'm farming chunks in the Kiln.

I mostly play with my volume down since my girlfriend is always next to me watching a show or whatnot, so I never hear the noise, and I always seem to miss the message from glancing at her laptop. So sometimes I see shadows running around and I get nervous because I think it's someone invading, but no one ever attacks me, so I think my paranoia stems from not knowing if someone actually invaded or am I just seeing things...

The other day i woke up at three in the morning and realized i didnt have to be up for another two hours so i was in snooze mode. Got this real paranoid feeling and coulda sworn there was a hollow from the burg standing at the edge of my bed. Thats when i started to realize im either crazy or way too obessed with this game playing it too much lol
