I am willing to use different armor but still would love to keep the heavy armor aspect. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

The nice thing about Str or Dex builds is that you have a lot of variety when it comes to weapon choice. Try them all out! See which ones you like the best, if you're more into slow hard hitting ultra greatswords or into being quicker weapons like axes. And when it comes to armor, just find a good balance of weight/def. I personally like finding my own interesting mixes, and to see what looks coolest 8)

str and dex... sound like a claymore or bastard sword would fit as they have decent scaling in both stats and are easy to use with good stunlock capability. is one stat higher than the other? if str is higher check out a battle axe as it scales with both or maybe even a hand axe. another possibilty is the demon spear double c scaling with lightning damage. you could also try a blk knight sword...

Just upgraded my man-serpent greatsword to plus 10 and I love it! It fits perfectly for my playing style. If you played Demon's Soul's at all and liked the Meat Cleaver, then I suggest using the man-serpent, because for me, the moves are similar and I do need to practice to much to get used to it.

Yes it is 1 of the best out of the str weapons IMO, love the moveset/speed.... Also love big trouble in little china, so great avatar.

i miss my blessed meat cleaver, and yeah msgs is one of my fave str weapons. you should try the great axe with slb, it has a B on str and it kicks ***.

I have pretty much used msgs for my entire NG+ playthrough so far and love the moveset/speed. At +15 with cystal buff is pretty devastating.

If you want something faster the Butcher knife is excellent, only 100 damage shy of the msgs (Which is a greatsword opposed to the Butcher knife being an axe) plus it's faster and more intimidating.

MSGS is a great weapon, especially if you are just starting out. Powerful, fast, and good moveset.
