What is this heavy damage spell or glitch?

So I have encountered this 3 or 4 times and only at the kiln as host on PS3. I am standing at the top entrance of the kiln at the top of the stairs in between the 2 pillars, facing the invader spawnpoint.
As the invader spawns in, this happens during them playing their spawn in animation, before they can be attacked. I hear a BZZZZZZ sound, different than lighting sound, there is a small flash on my character and my heath bar goes down 75% almost killing me (around 1400 vit). I don't see the invader play any kinda of magic cast anim or magic particle because they are still spawning in.

Is this some kind of hack? Has anyone else seen this? Luckily I have not been killed by it because I flask right away, but it was very close every time.

Think this got mentioned before, not sure where though, extreme lag perhaps?

Maybe it is lag, like the invader is casting a soul spear or something? The thing that made me think it might be a glitch was the odd BZZZZZZZ sound.

I heard a bzzzzzz in the forest last night when I spawned, it was extremely out of place and sounded almost like a sound error or something instead of an intended noise. Nothing else happened to me but I suppose it could have been related to another FH (I spawned alone way out in the woods). It did not sound anything like any spell I've ever heard.

I often hear Bzzz noises when every a lightning spear gets thrown at me
