a slight ounce of win. (better?)

Post by Paradoxal Ewok on Mon Mar 19, 2012 5:57 pm

    DAT FEELING!!

so, i was invading people in anor londo at lvl 104 with black knigh greataxe and greatshield of artories + 40 end and 58 str, when i invaded someone in the dark world. There were three people here, two mage/melee builds and one end dex build (the host). First i rushed them, taking the two summons down to almost dead, then the host shot with that super powerful bow, then he healed them. I figured that wont work another time and ran for it, to the small bridge that only fit one person.

i waited a while there, they were *******, and when they came, they came at me with two crystal homing soulmass and superbow, the one with eagle shield ran in front and other guy behind, with third shooting arrows.

So, what i did was: first i defended against the soulmass, then i MISsCLICKED R2 doublehand greataxe, knocked the first guy of, the i attacked the second guy, but i was pelted by arrows from host, spent some time back and forth, healing with humanity and so forth, then i ran down to the place with bigger area, hid behind a pillar (summon guy was running after me), so i easily killed him (i was low on health, so he had too big a confidence (idiot)) then i ran to get host, but he had ran when he saw me deafeating his summons. He ran and SUMMONED ANOTHER GUY DAMMIT, and i got really pissed, so then i ran back and they followed (they got in a few hits).

I healed with humanity and stupidly the host took some time to switch to greatbow (he had furysword out before), when i saw it, i ran up and quickly backstabbed the summon who didnt pay attention, killed him and ran after host (who planned to run again), we traded a few blows, but my greataxe was clearly greater, and i stunlocked him and obliterated him.

    WIN

keep in mind that im not very experienced with PVP and this was my first great victory!,

oh and if you, host, is reading this, your a damn ***** happy

Not to damper your mood or anything but you might want to change that title of yours since it is bypassing the system's censorship, congratulations on your win, it is always a good feeling when that happens happy

I'll apologize in advance if this sounds rude, but I'm genuinely curious, and this type of post (the OP, I mean) seems to be pretty common here: In your mind are you the good guy in this scenario?

Any other of you many, many invaders feel free to answer as well, if you'd like.

    i'm not offended happy

no in this scenario, im not the good guy, but im not the bad guy either because: this host was probably (probably) invading alot of people that had three guys in it, he got sick of it and did it himself, maybe with friends maybe not, i was just an unlucky bypasser who happened to take the blame, that justified that he had three people (if this assumption is correct) , atleast it does in my mind, and when he got desperate, i did not get too pissed, in fact, i was almost proud of the fact that he felt i was superior. By killing him, i hopefully thought him a lesson, so that he understands that its not right, in this scenario i think of myself as the parent or advisor or what you would call it happy

in case what i wrote was unclear (for me, im not always sure what i write) i think im the justifier, not taking any side.

    I think he's 100% the good guy.

He invades people who are purposefully ganking invaders, frankly they deserve anything that was coming to them. It's not like they were trying to do the boss as it was in Dark anor londo

Even though From clearly accepts (and even endorses) "ganking," as you call it, as part of the Dark Souls experience? Anyone who has felt the Black Eye Orb quiver (or tremble, whatever) should understand that. They allow the offline player to be invaded and to invade, and when the offline player invades there are 3 "gankers" waiting for them.

It ties into the whole feeling of the game. Did you honestly expect an easy victory against Lautrec? Have you learned anything fom this game?

throwing away what i said before and coming in with a new perspective, yes this is part of the experience, BUT you have to think of the three people on the opposite team, for them this shouldnt be part of the experience, its simply degenerating on your soul to pick an unfair fight, especially in DK as there are generally no unfair fights. Its like summon two guys to kill a simply pygmy

I definitely won't argue that. I can't imagine what they get from a win. I mean, 3 of us beat 1 guy. Yay.

And how humiliating when 3 of them get BEAT by one guy!
