What about the idea of using Btown, dropping the items out of the pit so you pick them up. Then the two drop down there and pick them up?

I'm a little confused by what you wrote tolvo.

What I did was drop 10 items on oposite ends in the arena. one near the dragonscale chest was all shields, the one near the gate was all weapons. It took some time to sort through all my weapons but drops got faster as we went along. after weapons were dropped I would climb out of the ring and the fight would start

I noticed few people were using the shields and more were choosing 2 weapons from the pile near me. For now I will leave the shields as a seperate drop mixing in only offensive shields in the roulette 6 but just something I noticed.

Thanks to Serious I checked out this page, and it is a rather ingenious idea. I'll be taking part in any later events if they come(As long as they fall on a weekend). Should be fun having a fight were there are no backstabs. No need to constantly move in a circle for no reason. I've also wanted to use some of the odder weapons in a PvP, to see how long I would last fighting using a Black Knight Great Sword that I can't even wield in one hand or the like.

Well, Serious really turtled on me in one of our matches! But I was fine with it, since he did have to expend one of his 2 pick-ups on a shield. I, on the other hand, prefer to pick up 2 weapons--I never use shields, prefer to dual wield, and it increases my chances of not picking up a dud weapon.

So I like that there are 2 separate piles, because it adds an extra level of strategy.

I just want to propose a rule, though: if you're going to pick up a shield, you need to pick from the shield pile before picking up from the weapons pile. That way, someone wouldn't be able to pick a weapon, get a spear, then decide to turtle; they'd get their shield and be forced to use whatever weapon they got, or risk dropping it and picking up another.

This way, I really wouldn't mind at all an opponent using his shield. I'd only consider it fair, since I prefer to pick up 2 weapons.

Looking forward to having more members clearly serious is doing his job well haha.

I don't think the next event will be until sometime in April, unless someone else is able to host one. I won't be free to host one for a few weeks at least.. probably not until the 13th of april or later, it will start getting more regular after that, I am thinking every week I can host after the 13th

Plenty of time to get my level 90 PvP toon to 120 than. I also look forward to the events. Till then, I will go invade people duel wielding shields. Don't you know? 30 damage a hit is the peak of PvP skill. ;D

If you want no backstabs, you should attend the Fight Club too, they're every Saturday. Nothing more refreshing in Dark Souls than to play an entire evening of dueling without getting backstabbed once!

This is the same as Fight Club, with the added element of random weapons. It's lots of fun!

I will check it out. I've been to several Fight clubs on my home forum. We had some odd rules like: Ultra-shield bashing only, Fist weapons only, kicks only(In tomb of giants), and a lot of other fun yet restricting rules.

Sorry Blaine! I kinda thought you know what i might as well turtle since I can... and I'm not used to the weapon forget what weapon I got think it was like a +11 rapier of some sorts lol

anyways I support that extra rule, if you want a shield pick from that pile first so that it's the whole risk/reward thing

also I know, iv been trying to get some publicity for this event, now it's stickied don't think we'll have too much of an issue

Yes, it will likely go down again sometime in april. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated as to when I am available. But soon I will be able to host them every weekend.

Alright, well I have uploaded the first of 3 pvp videos. The quality isn't great since its just recorded with my camera, I had to turn off the volume from the recording because I was coughing up a storm, but I hope you all enjoy.
