I love my DSB

Just knocked 3 people off the invisible ledges at crystal caves. Earlier I killed myself though, ran to the square like intersection in Anor Londo with the archers. Shot two arrows from the edge and the recoil from the bow pushed me off lol.

I honestly was never aware of the recoil before lol. Granted I just started using it for the first time recently since I hit the wield requirement.

Facepalm, I just realized I probably could've used it before since you have to 2H it and probably would've hit the wield requirement. Oh well only 1 point wasted.

I've never actually given it a chance just because ammo is so expensive. You think it's worth it though huh?

It's pretty awesome when you are outnumbered, works great at knocking people off cliffs. It's alright in PvE, I think it's kind of slow to use effectively against mobs and other bows shoot much faster. The arrows are kind of pricy though, I just host in the forest or elsewhere for a while to get souls for ammo, I haven't run out yet and I've been using it for about a week now.

Hurrah for Midgar! A bow lover like myself. I racked up quite a few souls by killing the giant guards on the way to the Ornstein and Smough fight, well enough to buy a few arrows from the Giant Blacksmith anyway. Since I expected to die in the Boss fight, before entering the fog, I did a detour and spent them on arrows, twinkling titanite etc. I ended up with around 250 DSB arrows because I died a lot but y'know I didn't really mind because I'd put the souls to good use beforehand.

I +1ed Midgar since someone disapproved of the DSB :evil:
I personally love it, I got quite a few kills with it at the Kiln, I push them back to the bridge, switch to it and snipe them off.
It's not my best bow but that blowback is a lifesaver.

Actually since you have to 2h bows in order to use the bow itself the requirements have to be met no matter what. So you would need the 20 str and dex in order to use it.

I like using the R2 from my MLGS more at the bridge on Klin> I miss having the Stormruler though lol.

Are you sure? I have to 2H an X-bow to meet the requirements, this shouldn't be much different.

That's what I've been reading in the wiki, I've also tried using the DSB when I didn't meet the req and it wouldn't work for me.

100% sure. Divide the strength by 1.5, and that is the actual strength you need to fire the bow.

You are incorrect Reim, i confirmed that you neef 20 str. At 16 str (16 x 1.5 =24) i was unable to weild it properly. It would still fire but there was massive recoil on my part.

I love the DSB, most of my builds put a few more points into str/dex for it. You can actually use it in close range PvP if you have the guts, as if you target lock it makes it very hard for anyone to backstab you because you rotate to face them 360 degrees, plus the moment they start to swing you can put them flat on their backs with a shot. There are youtube videos showing how to do it better than I ever could, but I've killed 4-5 people with it that way, it honestly baffles people because their brains say come attack you, but their corpses rebounding off the walls say otherwise. I just tried it with one of my characters that had 18 strength and more then enough dexterity. I couldn't wield it properly with 18 strength so you have to meet the requirements of 20 strength. I guess the exception to two handing something to circumvent the wield requirement applies to everything but bows.

Too bad, I noticed a distanced headshot on the Silver knight only did 2 damage with 16 str.

I love my Dragonslayer Bow as well, great for killing farmers in Dark Anor Londo. Not as great in the forest, but fun in the Kiln, Tomb, Cata, and sometimes even the Duke's.

Is that in reference to the person giving me constant negative rep recently? That was highly uncalled for, there are children who browse this forum! J/k
