Best Weapon Upgrade For The Demon Great Machete?

Title says it. Which weapon upgrade is better for the DGM? Should i just take it to +15 or would using elemental provide more damage? I'm not too keen with the crafting so that's why i'm asking. Thanks for any help

If you can use the DGM, then you must have 40 STR, which is the point where your damage scaling pretty much maxes out. The DGM, being a purely STR scaling weapon, gets a giant damage boost from your stat.

When a weapon is at +15 and your stat for its scaling is at 40, then it will always be the superior weapon in-between all upgrade paths, especially because +15 can still be buffed as opposed to elementals.

Everything that Seignar said. Although if you are willing to, then you should crystal upgrade it. At 40 str, a +15 DGM has an ar of 636, while a  +5 Crystal DGM has an ar of 688.

Although there are a few things to worry about with a Crystal upgraded weapon. You can't repair them, (except through reinforcement but you won't be able to reinforce a +5 Crystal) and they have very low durability. So once it breaks, its damage dealing days are pretty much over. 

But if you're willing to do so, then it's the way to go.

+15 with the proper stats beats every other upgrade path (except Crystal).

Make a crystal+4. It still outdoes a +15 version and you don't use a slab, only a few chunks.

Crystal or +15. Please don't destroy your DGM's scaling. 

lol i didn't destroy the scaling. I originally went with +15 so ill stick with it lol
