Also remember that Borderlands is a game that uses a lot of humor and is well know for its easter eggs, this is why they can have such an obvious easter egg without ruining the game. Were as GTA has to have more discrete easter eggs.
Anyway I will rub this in the face of everyone of my friends that ever hated on Dark Souls because he couldn't get past the Burgs!
