I've got it so that amazon deliver it to my door on release day.

I'm gonna hit the main quest line really hard, well as exploring all the random extra add on things they've introduced. I'm gonna immerse myself in it big grin

Though it's around the time I'm going back to uni so.... :/

I never liked GTA series. I don't like playing the bad guy, even if his motives aren't bad at all. Also, the games are very repetitive and boring after a while. As an RPG player, I'd prefer to be the good guy and help others, which is the last thing you can do in GTA games. Also, the usual undercover cop workaround doesn't work on me either. Not anymore at least. As such the game has nothing of interest to offer to me.
If I'll get my hands on GTA V I'll play it, but it's not worth the money for me.

Zero interest here.  They have tried to do to much in the last two iterations without being really successful at any of them.  The only good GTA game IMO is the one in Miami.

I will be purchasing it and im actually quite excited about the multiplayer as none of my mates play dark souls but they will be playing gta5 but splitting my time between that and dks2 means im bracing myself for being in my girlfriends ******* book for the next couple of months or so lol. To be fair I don't get comments about you've played one GTA you've played them all.. Thats the same with most series to be honest, especially with dark and demons souls considering half the enemies, levels and bosses are copies, but I don't complain about that, both are good games..

To be honest I think GTA does well varying character's backgrounds and stories. San andreas and GTAIV did this especially well for me, looking at gang culture and troubles facing immigrants respectively.

Only game series this doesn't apply to for me is final fantasy as they change up the combat system, story and characters with every single game, though usually there's a premise of save the world and similar monsters in each..

Other than being an extreme goofball and messing around in multiplayer, I never touch the GTA IV game my neighbour has. I tried the story for a bit, but it was so dull.
The multiplayer gets boring after a while too if you can't resort to pissing people off (imo xP). And I don't like to do that, unless I think they deserve it. So overall it's a pretty boring game for me. Now it'll get more boring because it seems to be closer to the real life.

    My answer is 'Never'.

I haven't played GTA since vice city so I won't be getting it. I have a hard time doing some of the quests in this series. So to me, buying it would be a waste of money. It does look cool tho, I saw a commercial the other day.

@Marino - played 1 you played them all? I only own GTA3 and vice city so that statement is not true for me.

Of course the first thing I will do is try to get my hands on some military hardware. No better way to explore than in a fighter jet.
Next on the agenda is shoot someone in the balls and kill someone with a bicycle.

Of course, the leap of quality from GTA 3 to Vice City was a big one, but such a big leap never happened again so that was why i made that comment .

Vice City, San Andreas and IV aren't all that different to me .

One has awesome Music, one has a big ass world and lots of unneded Game Mechanics etc .

But in the core it's just the same Gameplay .
Doing Missions and f*cking around in the World .

That isn't a bad thing mind you, just not mine anymore .

    Please don't crucify me Prostration
I still love San Andreas though !

Well a lot of game series can be summed up into "If you played one, you played them all.".
There usually are differences, but they're never groundbreaking. More like improving on what we already have.

GTA, CoD, Assassin's Creed, all sports series, the list goes on and it's pretty long.
This is not a bad thing. The fans will love it, because they get what they like + something extra, like new possibilities, new game modes etc.

This approach is much better than just making a completely new game and slap on it the name of some already existing series and act like it belongs there, while it's a vastly different game than the rest of the series.
Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil and again the list goes on.
But that's just my opinion. For somebody else, the first option can seem worse.

Problem is that there's no way to make everyone happy, so there will always be those that don't like something about the game. Look at Duke Nukem Forever. They wanted to add so many things to the game to make it perfect and make everyone happy, that the game took like 12? years to develop and was mostly pretty horrible. It's only good quality was the nostalgia for those who grew up on good old Duke as kids.

For me GTA was always about the fun, i felt 4 just sucked the fun out of the series. I could spend hours just driving around in 3, VC and SA. A mate of mine said when he played 4 and found he had to concentrate while driving he lost all interest. They fell into the trap of making it too real. I might give a go sometime, the souls games have really ruined alot of games for me.

I can say that the driving is a lot easier on V, normal brake is insane and one of the characters has a special ability to slow time and improve handlig kinda like bullet time.

Btw the dynamic on this GTA is a lot different to the old ones. Obviously if you're the kind of person who doesn't bother discerning types of missions, then it's the same old (just like souls games that involve levels and bosses and elder scrolls games in which you do quests are all the same). However, team aspects and setting up heists, picking crew etc. There's things same as before but a lot different too, it's more of a mixed bag which is nice. The diversity makes it a more complete game.

I'm assuming it's not here in Canada yet because I saw on the news last night, people are trying to boycott the selling of the game. They saying it's too violent and too real life. They seem to think people who play it are going to end up being a criminal lol.
