Castlevania: Souls Of The Dark. Empty Castlevania: Souls Of The Dark.

    Post by Darsheim_Cremnis Mon Aug 13, 2012 9:34 pm

I am a long term Demon, and Dark Souls player. I have perfected my game and ran through with dozens of varying builds. A week ago, I found a build challenge giving directions to play through Dark Souls role-playing as a Belmont. In wanting to keep the game fresh, I accepted. Currently, I have just passed the Bell Gargoyles.
I'm abiding by all the rules stated in the build post. I merely wanted to ask the Dark Souls public if they have tried this challenge and what they think of it. It would also be nice if there is anyone out there that has fully completed "Castlevania: Souls Of The Dark." I would appreciate any feed back.

I went with the challenge, it proved...taxing. Lol Its definitely going to wear on your patience cause of the whip moveset. Its a rewarding experience though! big grin Good luck!

Oh and the last Castlevania I played was Lament of Innocence! Christ I LOVE that soundtrack with a passion!

    I love this track:
    Ghostly Theatre

I haven't tried this build yet (I think I'd like to give it a shot), but TWoP should be considered as an equivalent to the stopwatch. It should be added as another miracle you can use.

I would also break the no two-handing rule. If this was a 3D Castlevania game, there'd a be a lot more moves for the whip. Two-handing it is a small compensation for the lack of other moves. I realize a lot of the limitations are made with challenge in mind (only kindling bonfires once, no warping), but a Belmont would use a whip in any way they can to kick ***.

That happens to be my favorite track as well! Bow

I recently said I enjoy necro threading.

This build infuriates me. A lot, really. However, the masochistic attitude one adopts from playing Dark Souls keeps me playing. That, and my vain ego needing to be reassured that I can, in fact, conquer this challenge.

I highly recommend anyone to try this build. You'll scream and you'll cuss and you'll bargain with the forces of fate, but it is a lot of fun.

a while back i made a couple suggestions. one was TWoP for stopwatch, the other was for emit force as the cross(regular). another was to cheese the 3 ogres on the way down to blight town by hitting the ladder as fast as possible. since they will fall yo their doom, build up enough souls and levels to use force, and use that to move everything out of the way on up to the whip. they were accepted, if you look at the "obtaining the whip of alchemy" video, but he never updated the site
