So, what is your downfall in PvP?

As the title seys what is your downfall in PvP? What gets you killed all the time and why, is it a weapon you cant parry or maby caster builds.

For me its a weird one, I wouldn't really call it too powerful but when I face someone using it I just feel like jumping off a cliff. Have you guessed it yet? Its turtling, especially with a thrusting sword. Not even that when I get invaded by a player that only holds his shield up or tryes to avoid fighting all the time, I get frustrated so much that I either spam all the magic I have to kill them as fast as I can or continually attack. A lot of the time this ends up getting me punished and killed.

I can deal with BS fishers, casting spammers and DWGR users and by deal i dont mean win all the time i mean i just dont really find them annoying but with turtling I just feel like banging my head on the wall. So, what about you?

The dragonslayer spear, but not in the hands of a new player. I can win if you're incompetent with it but against someone that knows what they're doing I never have the time to counter.

The fact I don't play enough, and the fact I shackle myself with honour. Sad times to be honest.

I would say BS fishing but i´am working on it, i´am still a newbie when it comes to the PvP aspect of the game though.

Playing against fast buffed weapons on a laggy connection.

The Dragonslayer spear is definitely my kryptonite.

The thing is fast, it stunlocks, it has huge range, it does crazy amounts of damage due to many pieces of armours being low on lightning defense.


Overall a really powerful weapon in the hands of someone trained with it.

I'd probably say anyone with a spear, DWGR, and a bow! or a katana build with crystal magic weapon and lots of poise. stuff tears my fatrolling strength build up if I don't play a lot different than against other opponents.

Spears, particularly the Dragonslayer spear. I always go with low-poise builds (36 max without the Wolf Ring tossed on) and I ALWAYS get stunlocked to death. Even if I toggle out they just hit me again with the insane range.

Oh, and Pursuers. Dark Bead is insanely easy to dodge/punish but laggy Pursuers are just a bowl of exploding death pudding.

I'm too lazy to master the mechanical exploits that some of the top tier PvPers use.

Just toggle-off, roll right through me, backstab . . . watch me die. I can dead-angle like a mug but never felt like abusing my right control stick to that extent.

Also, because I do a lot of low-mid level PvP, I have died plenty caught between a wall and a claymore combo.

Kats.  Without a question.  Then there's spears.  Followed by stupidity (on my part).  Last, but not least, skill (not on my part again).

Forgot to mention - rifter. He combines all of those into a solid cheek-kicking romp.

That about sums it up.  That's how to beat me, and beat me easily.

I don't really have much of a problem with long spears as long as I have a Chaos Blade handy.

However, I do tend to have issues against the Kumo. I also have problems with the Estoc if someone is really good with it.

Lag (i live in finland and use an usb-based mobile interweb thingy).

I RP Tarkus 90% of the time when I PvP these days, and the only thing that is almost certain to kill me is Magic (Pyromancy/Miracles not included).  
 
I fat roll and have stellar australian internet (read: it's f**king terrible).  
 
I regularly hit midway through a roll with things like CSS, character completely breaks animation and stands up and gets poise broken. Walls are just illusions and don't stop Souls Spears/Pursuers, and having my shield up doesn't guarantee it will work. 
 
Mainly because of timezones I seem to always PvP against Europe and laggy people like Bassman  
 
Russia seems fine, Finland, Poland, and most people from the UK, if they're using magic it's about99% certain I'm dead

My midroll builds tend to get roll bsed a lot.
My magic build can get shut down pretty early by strong anti magic stuff and is fragile.
My dex pyro tends to get do well, but depending on what weapon I have out I can get stomped by weapon counters, and I have nothing to combat spell users relying on certain tactics. I tend to get greedier on that build, so I get parried a bit easier too.
Lag is my bane on anything, unless the other player can't abuse it, which usually ends in me bleeding them to death.
