Will it be just as good as say a capture card?
    Will you be using it?
    Can it replace other DVRs?
Or is it wasted too you?

To me it's very useful because I've never had a capture card, and like others in my position we'll be able to record stuff, and upload it just on a whim.. It'll enable everyone to share their stuff with others- it'll be really useful for forum members I think..

To be honest though for people who youtube already and capture stuff it'll probably make no difference, as the capture card I presume will be easier to turn into a youtube video.. the PS4 thing sounds like it'll link videos you take to an online PSN profile or something similar

It's a really good idea to include it as part of the next gen console, its not locked  behind a subscription fee and since i have no means of recording it will be very useful.

It will look a lot sharper than my cell phone trying to record my TV for sure.

Also.....audio. I'll be able to have game audio instead of picking a ridiculous track from YouTube (generally I intend them to be ridiculous).

It also looks like they're doing a good job partnering with different services to allow for a variety of places to just send the videos too. My only concern will be editing but if it allows YouTube uploading (which is what I use) then I can just edit in YouTube relatively well.

But you have to have PSN + to use the online bit aka the filming though don't you?

Nope. The only online function that will require Plus is multiplayer for paid games.

All other services, including the share features aren't behind the pay wall.

Here's the latest article about sharing:

This is specific to the addition of Twitch as one of the video services but it sums up a lot of things nicely. The "free" part is also in reference to only Twitch but I think this IGN article is helpful (if it's not it's because I'm at work and can't see the article, I linked it because I'm pretty sure it's the other one I read before)

multiplayer for paid games? Do you just mean that any game I buy I'd need PSN+ to play online?

Yeah. There's a chance that free to play games would be behind the pay wall too but it's up to the developer. My guess is most developers with a free to play game will go the "pay for in game content" route and won't want the barrier of making it a PS+ needed game.

In other words, PSN+ is only needed for multiplayer on non-free to plays, games like Warframe, Planetside, BlackLight and future free to play indie titles will be free and wont require PSN+.
